Wolves vs. Fulham - Prediction

Winning three of their last four, Fulham have been very good on the road in the Premier League and will pose a stern test to a Wolves side that are in a good place. However, Wolves have won both of the last two head-to-head meetings between the two teams, so they'll feel as though they match up well with the Cottagers.

Ultimately, this should be a close game between two sides that will fancy their chances, and we fancy the spoils to be shared. Wolves 1-1 Fulham.

Wolves vs. Fulham: Prediction, Preview & Betting Tips

Wolves are looking continue to climb away from the Premier League relegation zone as they take on Fulham this weekend.

  • Date: 25/02/2025
  • Kick-off time: 19:30
  • Location: Molineux Stadium, Wolverhampton

Wolves are currently 17 in the Premier League with 22 points from 26 games. On the whole, it's been a poor campaign from a Wolves side that will consider themselves fortunate that the most recently promoted three have all been well short of the required level to properly compete in the Premier League.

Now on their second manager, Wolves are improving slowly under the guidance of Vítor Pereira following the dismissal of Gary O'Neil, and as they now sit five points clear of Ipswich Town in 17th, they'll feel as though they're in a very favourable position in the survival scrap.

Given the quality in Wolves' side, you can argue they never should've been near the relegation fight, and that's best demonstrated by Brazilian forward Matheus Cunha, who's largely carried the side on his back this season. Cunha has 13 goals for Wolves and is instrumental in everything the team does, and should they secure their place in the Premier League for another season, they'll very much have him to thank.

There's no doubt that Cunha will be the subject of enquiries by Europe's biggest clubs in the summer, and one may well prize him away. But for now, he remains a Wolves player, and it feels fairly likely that he'll have a pretty big say in how this game finishes.

Fulham are currently 10th in the Premier League with 39 points from 26 games. The Cottagers are having a very impressive campaign under Marco Silva and still have their eye on a top seven finish.

Fulham are one of the biggest overachievers in the Premier League when you look at the investment in the squad over the course of the last few seasons, so if they do fail to make the top seven this season, Cottagers fans will rightly demand that the club strongly backs manager Marco Silva in the summer, who has proven well capable of extracting maximum value out of the tools at hand.

As of now, Fulham haven't quite been consistent enough to climb into the European spots and have a habit of falling to frustrating defeats in games they should win. Their record against the league's better sides is generally good, and given they're only four points shy of Chelsea in 7th, they'll still feel as though there's plenty left to achieve in the league.

An away game at Wolves is a huge chance to pick up three points and if they want to keep up with the teams around them, they need to be getting a result.

Where To Watch

This game will be televised live to all subscribed UK viewers on TNT Sports 4.

Team News

Wolves Team News:

Wolves are missing Hwang Hee-Chan, Gonçalo Guedes, Rodrigo Gomes, Emmanuel Agbadou, Saša Kalajdžić, Yerson Mosquera, Enso González and Leon Chiwome.

After claiming one of their biggest results of the season at the weekend, we could well see an unchanged XI here.

Predicted lineup: Sá; Doherty, Bueno, T. Gomes; Semedo, André, J. Gomes, Aït-Nouri; Bellegarde, Cunha; Munetsi.

Fulham Team News:

Fulham will be without Tom Cairney, Harry Wilson, Kenny Tete and Reiss Nelson, all of whom are out injured.

Additionally, Emile Smith-Rowe is a major doubt after picking up a knock at the weekend, which would make the Cottagers slightly depleted.

Predicted lineup: Leno; Castagne, Andersen, Bassey, Robinson; Lukić, Berge; Adama, Pereira, Iwobi; Jiménez.

Wolves vs. Fulham - Form Guide

Wolves:

Wolves enter this game in decent form, with three wins and two losses from their last five games. Last time out, Wolves claimed a huge 1-0 win over Bournemouth thanks to a goal from Matheus Cunha, which came after a 2-1 defeat away at Liverpool.

Before that, goals from João Gomes and Cunha gave them a 2-0 win away at Blackburn Rovers in the FA Cup, which followed a 2-0 win over Aston Villa - thanks to goals from Jean-Ricner Bellegarde and Cunha - and a 1-0 loss to Arsenal.

Fulham:

Fulham are in good shape heading into this game, with Marco Silva's men winning three and losing two of their last five matches. The Cottagers fell to a disappointing 0-2 defeat at home to Crystal Palace at the weekend, a result that followed a 2-1 win over Nottingham Forest thanks to goals from Emile Smith-Rowe and Calvin Bassey.

Prior to that, Fulham beat Wigan Athletic 2-1 in the FA Cup, which was preceded by a 2-1 win away at Newcastle United - courtesy of goals from Raúl Jiménez and Rodrigo Muniz - and a 0-1 loss to Manchester United.
