In Group H of the Europa Conference League, Qarabag take on Swiss Super League side FC Basel at Azersun Arena.
The hosts are currently top of the Azerbaijan Premier League with seven points from a possible of nine, having drawn 1-1 with Zira FK on the opening day, before defeating Sabail 3-0 at home, as well as Neftci 2-1 away with a strike from Dino Ndlovu and an own goal by Ruslan Abishov sealing all three points in the latter.
To qualify for the inaugural Europa Conference League, Qarabag beat Aberdeen 4-1 on aggregate, which includes a 3-1 victory at Pittodrie where Tural Bayramov, Kady and Abdellah Zoubir all got on the scoresheet.
Basel come into this game as favourites as they have started the Swiss Super League in a decent fashion, following three wins and three draws in six matches, leaving them on 12 points, one behind surprise league leaders FC Zurich, and four ahead of reigning champions Young Boys. Basel qualified for this tournament having beaten Swedish Allsvenskan outfit Hammarby on penalties following a 4-4 draw on aggregate, where Brazilian forward Arthur Cabral scored all of their goals across the two legs.
