The champions of Europe are back in action this Wednesday night with Manchester City heading to Switzerland for a meeting with BSC Young Boys where the Premier League champions come into the game off the back of two wins.
City have so far defeated both RB Leipzig and Red Star Belgrade this season, but things weren't entirely easy for them in the meeting with Belgrade. City would go 1-0 down before winning the game 3-1 thanks to a brace from the sensational Julian Alvarez. Rodri also scored late on that day, as City had 37 shots with 16 of them hitting the target.
Pep Guardiola's men would also meet with Leipzig and win 3-1 too, as Phil Foden scored before an equaliser from Lois Openda. Alvarez scored again, as Jeremy Doku continued his excellent form with another goal in stoppage time.
City did also returned to winning ways after three losses in a row on the domestic front, as they were beaten by Newcastle United 1-0 in the EFL Cup third round before an away defeat to Wolves. Arsenal would also beat them in the Premier League for the first time in many seasons before the club beat Brighton & Hove Albion last time out thanks to a goal each from Alvarez and Erling Haaland. City now sit second in the league behind Tottenham Hotspur by two points.
As for Young Boys, they head into this one after a draw against FC Zurich last time out where first and second met in the Swiss Super League. The club now remain behind Zurich in the table but have a game in hand to play too.
So far, Young Boys have won six of their 10 games and lost only once and have the best defensive record in Switzerland with just nine goals let in. They have also scored 20 of their own.
