For our Cluj vs. Lazio prediction, we're going for a 2-1 win for the away side.
Romanian side Cluj are attempting to overturn a 1-0 deficit on Thursday night as they welcome Serie A side Lazio in the second leg on their Europa Conference League last 16 tie.
Cluj reached the Europa Conference League last 16 by finishing 2nd in Group G, a group containing Sivasspor, Slavia Praha and Ballkani.
Cluj were narrowly beaten by Lazio in the first leg by a single goal to nil but will be quietly disappointed, as even though it's not the worst result in a vacuum it was made more disappointing by the fact Lazio were reduced to ten men after just 15 minutes and went on to score the winner on the stroke of half-time.
Cluj are still in this, but they'll have to be much more threatening going forward here having failed to breach the ten men of Lazio.
Their form coming into this game is not great, however, with the Romanians having won one and lost three of their last four matches in all competitions. They did win their most recent game, a 3-1 win against Arges in the league at the weekend, but all in all things are looking shaky.
Cluj desperately need to take the game to Lazio and the fans need to create an intimidating atmosphere for the visitors. While the tie is not over, Lazio are the clear favourites.
Lazio reached the Europa Conference League last 16 by finishing 3rd in Europa League Group F, a group containing Feyenoord, Midtjylland and SK Sturm Graz.
The Italian side are having a solid season overall, and despite underwhelming in the Europa League they're showing in Serie A has been pretty impressive as they sit 5th in the table, just five points shy of Inter Milan in 2nd.
Their form of late has been up and down however, as they enter this game having won two, drawn one and lost two of their last five matches in all competitions. They have, though, now won their last two on the bounce having followed up the win over Cluj with a 2-0 win away at Salernitana at the weekend.
Lazio's away form has been fairly solid of late, with the side from Rome winning two, drawing one and losing one of their last four games on the road.
Lazio have been struggling in front of goal lately having scored just four times in their last five matches, but having bagged two at the weekend through star striker Ciro Immobile they'll be hoping they've turned a corner vis-a-vis their goalscoring woes.
Lazio demonstrated in the first leg that they're a notably better side than Cluj so even with their opponents having home advantage they should expect themselves to progress here.
