For our Armenia vs. Turkey prediction, we're going for a 2-1 win for the away side.
We have a fierce derby game in EURO 2024 qualifying this week as Armenia host Turkey in Group D.
Armenia are sharing a group with Turkey, Croatia, Wales and Latvia.
Armenia enter this game amidst a tough period having failed to win any of their last seven matches, drawing one and losing six.
They currently find themselves in a tough period in their football history as they're ranked a lowly 95th in the world and following the retirement of Henrikh Mkhitaryan they have no players currently playing in a top five European league.
Their record at home is at least slightly encouraging having won two and lost three of their last five matches on home soil, but the three defeats came via an aggregate scoreline of 13-2 so there's still a huge amount of concern here.
Armenia are in a difficult spot at the present time and along with Latvia they could well be the whipping boys of this group despite it not being the strongest group on the whole. As far as this game is concerned the best they can likely hope for is a point.
Turkey enter this game amidst a mixed run of form having won three, drawn one and lost one of their last five matches having suffered disappointing results in a 3-3 draw against Luxembourg and a 2-1 defeat to the Faroe Islands.
Turkey have had a puzzling last couple of years in that after wholly underwhelming at EURO 2020 they then went on to fail to qualify for the 2022 World Cup after losing to Portugal in the play-off round, all despite having a very talented squad.
Whether Turkey can now go on to get the best out of their young and talented crop remains to be seen, but they can be thankful that they've been drawn into a very kind group given their main competitions are Croatia and Wales.
Turkey should really secure second spot in this group but they have to get their campaign off to a winning start here.
