Croatia are in need of a win to get right back into contention for a spot in next year's European Championships with the World Cup third-placed side playing hosts to the winless Latvia on Friday night.
Croatia are currently trailing Turkey in top spot by five points after three wins and one loss for them, as Luka Modric and co. have only managed to play just two games in their Group D campaign thus far because of their run in the Nations League.
The country managed to get all the way to the final of the Nations League after defeating the Netherlands in their own backyard in a stunning 4-2 win. However, they lost to Spain in the final on penalties in brutal style, but nevertheless, this does now mean Croatia have finished third at the World Cup, were runners-up at the 2018 World Cup and have now managed to get all the way to the Nations League final too.
From the games played so far in the Euro 2024 qualifiers, Croatia have drawn with Wales 1-1 at home after a goal from Andrej Kramaric once again, while Mateo Kovacic bagged a brace inside the first half to secure a 2-0 win over Turkey.
As for Lativa, as predicted, it's been three games and three losses for them at these qualifiers with Turkey, Wales and Armenia all defeating the nation. They managed to score twice in a 3-2 loss to Turkey, as Latvia also scored against Armenia but lost 2-1.
This should be a routine win for Croatia and a match that sees Lativa likely concede above 2.5 goals.
