Two of the lowest-ranked sides across Europe wll battle on matchday three of the Euro 2024 qualifiers with Luxembourg set to welcome Liechtenstein to the Luxembourg Stadium on Saturday afternoon after another set of winless games for both teams.
As is usually the case when Liechtenstein come into these qualifying games, they are without a win and are yet to get a single point on the board. The 199th-ranked side in the world see only San Marino and Gibraltar behind them in the FIFA World Rankings list for those in Europe with the nation now failing to score a single goal from two games after also letting in 11 goals too.
Liechtenstein's first game saw the club beaten 4-0 by Portugal before a 7-0 demolition from Iceland at home. In reality, it's going to be another long qualifying campaign for the nation but this is potentially the game where they can get at least one goal.
In fact, Liechtenstein have even lost to Gibraltar in the past year and have lost every single game dating back to September 2021 when they secured a draw against Armenia in a World Cup qualifier.
As for Luxembourg, they managed to get a draw against Slovakia on the opening game of matchday one before a 6-0 battering from Portugal at home. The nation even fell to a 1-0 defeat to Malta after in a friendly back in March.
It's no doubt going to be a low-scoring game and although this is likely to be Liechtenstein's best choice at scoring, we still think they'll lose once again.
