Spain vs Italy Prediction, Tips & Stats

The Nations League returns this week with the semi-finals battles that see Spain and Italy meet in Amsterdam with the two sides coming into this one after a loss and a win each in the Euro 2024 qualifiers.

Spain were stunned by Scotland in Edinburgh when they met in the last international break, as the Scots ran out 2-0 winners that day. Prior to this, the 2010 world champions beat Norway 3-0 in a comfortable victory that saw Joselu score twice on his debut for his country.

Italy did not attend the World Cup just one year after winning the European Championship title in 2021 and they would go on to lose to England in Rome in a 2-1 loss at the end of March.

They were also beaten by Austria in a friendly towards the end of November. Italy did, however, return with a 2-0 win against Malta after a goal each from Mateo Retegui and Matteo Pessina.

These two did meet in Italy's triumphant Euro 2020 title, as the Blues defeated Spain on penalties after a finish from Federico Chiesa and an equaliser 10 minutes before time from Alvaro Morata.
