Derby vs Blackburn: Armstrong to score + Blackburn to win

Pride Park is the stage for Saturday’s 3pm encounter between Derby County and Blackburn Rovers with the Rams seriously needing to kick start their season after a very sluggish start which has left them pointless and out of the EFL Cup.

Blackburn have made an impressive start in front of goal this season and far and away the most potent attack side with seven goals in their first two games, three more than any other side. Last week, we tipped Adam Armstrong to outscore Wycombe Wanderers and he duly came through with a hattrick in their 5-0 victory, this following on from his impressive tally of 16 in the Championship last season.

Derby currently seem a long way away from the side that reached the 2019 play-off final and they will do well to keep Armstrong and co. quiet this weekend - click here to have the Rovers man score and win at 13/5.

Wycombe vs Swansea: Swansea (-1)

Championship debutants Wycombe host Swansea City this Saturday lunchtime at Adams Park with the hosts looking for their first-ever point at this level.

The early signs have not been promising for Gareth Ainsworth’s men in the Championship, especially after the 5-0 drubbing at Ewood Park last week.

Drastic improvement is needed if the club are to stand any chance of survival in the second tier, with their upcoming opponents desperate to get themselves back into the top flight. Wycombe are yet to score a goal this season and Swansea are also yet to concede one, and you would fancy last season’s play-off semi-finalist to keep that run going against The Chairboys here.

Since relegation from the Premier League in 2018, the Welsh outfit have amassed 20 points from 12 games against newly-promoted sides from League One, averaging 2.5 goals per game in those matches too, so a healthy win is very much a possibility this weekend.

Swansea -1 is now priced at 9/4 - click here to claim this one in your weekend acca.

QPR vs Middlesbrough: BTTS and Boro to win

Queens Park Rangers return to the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium this weekend looking to bounce back from a 3-2 defeat at Coventry City.

Despite many low scoring affairs so far in the division, no Championship side have seen a higher volume of goals in home fixtures than QPR since the start of last season, with 3.58 goals scored per game.

This fixture also often sees goals very often, with nine of the previous 14 witnessing over 2.5 goals and five of the last nine seeing both teams scoring. The London outfit saw five goals last time out, as they fell to defeat at the hands of Coventry, in a 3-2 scoreline.

Middlesbrough are also no strangers to high scoring encounters of late, as in their last five competitive matches, 15 goals have been scored, which is why we have gone for BTTS and a Boro win - click here to get this one in your bet slip.

Bournemouth vs Norwich: BTTS + over 3.5 goals

A meeting between two recently relegated top flight sides takes place at the Vitality Stadium this weekend with both Bournemouth and Norwich hoping for an instant return to the Premier League.

Both sides have made unbeaten starts and sit on four points each as well as being amongst the higher scorers so far in what has been a strangely low scoring start to the league season.

Bournemouth have netted four so far and Norwich have scored three, but the Canaries also boast Teemu Pukki in the attack, who bagged 29 goals at this level two seasons ago - the Finnish forward opened his account this season with a goal against Preston North End last time out.

Both outfits possess pedigree to score in this division and the last time either side were in the Championship, they both finished as champions (Bournemouth in 2014/15, Norwich in 2018/19). In those title-winning seasons, they were incredibly prolific as the Cherries netted 98, whilst Daniel Farke's men hit home 93.

Both defences are certainly suspect, however, with a combined 140 goals let in between them as they both suffered relegation back to the Championship.

Down in the weaker domain, the two sides are back to their better ways and over 3.5 goals with both teams scoring is our tip for this one - click this link to claim it in your acca at 5/2.
