5 Championship Goalscorer Tips to Watch This Weekend - Gameweek 4

Latest News

Blackburn Rovers vs Cardiff City – Adam Armstrong

Adam Armstrong has scored four goals in his last two games for Blackburn Rovers and has netted in the last six games in which he has started. The striker also scored the winner from the halfway line when these two teams met back in July of last season.

Tony Mowbray’s side play an attacking system and are the league’s top scorers with 11 goals, five more than any other Championship team. They will face a physical side in Cardiff City and Armstrong’s pace could cause a major threat to their defence.

Last week the Welsh side lost 2-1 and struggled to cope with a similar pacey attack in the form of Reading. Sky Bet are offering odds of 6/4 for Armstrong to score anytime, 7/2 for him to score first and 17/2 for him to score 2+.

Reading vs Watford – Lucas Joao

Lucas Joao has proved to be a brilliant signing for Reading from Sheffield Wednesday with five goals in four appearances this season.

The Portuguese will likely lead the line in a mouth-watering fixture as the Royals take on league favourites Watford at the Madejski Stadium. The home side have won all three of their fixtures so far, whilst the Hornets are yet to concede a goal in their three games.

It’ll be a match that really could go either way, with two new managers at the helm, making the outcome very difficult to predict. Therefore, we've gone for the goalscoring tip of Lucas Joao to score Reading’s opening goal, which Sky Bet have at 16/5 - click here to claim this one.

Sheffield Wednesday vs Queens Park Rangers – Lyndon Dykes

Queens Park Rangers paid a rumoured seven-figure fee for Lyndon Dykes from Livingston and the Scot has looked impressive in his first few appearances for the Superhoops.

Dykes has scored six in his last nine for club and country and will look to press Sheffield Wednesday’s back three who have conceded twice in each of their last two games.

With big boots to fill, since the departure of Nahki Wells in January and the expiration of Jordan Hugill’s loan spell, Dykes has made a strong start to life under Mark Warburton at Loftus Road, considering the 24-year-old striker has yet to hit double figures in a season so far in his career.

Sky Bet are offering odds of 5/1 for Dykes to score first, 21/10 for him to score anytime and 3/1 for him to score QPR’s first goal - click the links to claim these in your bet slip.

Swansea City vs Millwall – Andre Ayew

Andre Ayew has stayed with Swansea City despite relegation a few years ago and the forward is continuing to show why he is one of the best players in the league.

The Ghan international was Swansea’s top goalscorer last season with 15 goals and this season will have even more service after the acquisitions of Jamal Lowe from Morgan Gibbs-White.

City have made a strong start to the season having picked up seven points so far and are also yet to concede this campaign, whilst Ayew himself has picked up a goal and an assist in his opening three league appearances.

Sky Bet are offering odds of 4/1 for Andre Ayew to score first and 15/8 to score anytime.

Brentford vs Preston North End – Ivan Toney

Brentford suffered heartbreak in the play-off final last season and lost their top goalscorer, Ollie Watkins, to Aston Villa. The Bee’s decided that Ivan Toney, last season’s League One top scorer, was the man to replace Watkins, and the 24-year-old opened his account for the west London side last week.

Thomas Frank’s side have looked less than convincing this season if they are to be considered as title challengers, picking up four points from a possible nine, they will be looking to find their feet this weekend and maintain their 100%-win record at the Brentford Community Stadium.

We are tipping the odds of 7/2 for Toney to score first, 13/10 to score anytime and 13/5 to score Brentford’s first goal.
