5 Premier League Tips to Watch This Weekend - Gameweek 5

Merseyside Derby Tips: Calvert-Lewin to score and win

It’ll be 10 years to the day since Everton last beat Liverpool in the Premier League when the two sides face one another on Saturday, and ironically, this looks like their best chance to do so in the last decade.

There is growing optimism around Goodison Park that this season will be different to the rest. Calvert-Lewin looks to be a top-class striker and they have a three-time Champions League-winning manager in Carlo Ancelotti, as well as the creative genius in James Rodriguez.

Jurgen Klopp’s side find themselves in unfamiliar territory as they have the task of bouncing back from their heaviest Premier League defeat ever, with a 7-2 demolition from Aston Villa. The Reds' defence has looked shaky since the opening day, conceding the joint-second most amount of goals in the league, and with the hottest striker in Europe coming up, this might be a historic day at Goodison Park.

Everton are playing with belief and confidence but do remain the underdogs for the Merseyside derby. However, we're tipping a monumental day for the Toffees with a win priced at 11/2 for Calvert-Lewin to score and win.

Sheffield United vs Fulham: Sheffield United Win to Nil

The only two teams to have lost all four games this season face each other at Brammall Lane as Sheffield United face Fulham.

The Blades fans will take confidence in the fact that they have finally signed a striker in Rhian Brewster, with their top scorer bagging just six goals last season. Brewster netted 11 goals in 22 games for Swansea last season but is unproven in the Premier League as of yet.

Fulham, on the other hand, are at sixes and sevens with their start to the season, having bagged just three goals, whilst United's defence has remained decent enough, with just six let in from five games.

For this one, we're going for a Chris Wilder's men to inflict more damage on a hopeless Fulham, with odds of 9/4 for United to win the game to nil.

Crystal Palace vs Brighton: Over 2.5 Goals

The Merseyside derby isn’t the only rivalry in the Premier League this weekend, with Crystal Palace hosting Brighton in the M23 derby. Even without the fans it is likely to be full of energy and goals, with both teams scoring in five of their last six encounters, four of which contained over 2.5 goals.

Furthermore, there have been over 2.5 goals in Palace’s last three Premier League games as Hodgson has begun to encourage a much more exciting approach to this season, bringing in hot prospect Eberechi Eze over the summer after his side managed just 31 goals last season.

Just one of Brighton's Premier League games so far have seen less than three goals, partly due to the form of striker Neal Maupay who has scored four goals in his last three games and is proving himself to be the perfect replacement for Glenn Murray after joining last summer.

For this one, we're tipping over 2.5 goals at 6/5.

West Brom vs Burnley: Draw

This weekend presents West Bromwich Albion with their best chance of a victory so far this season as they face Burnley at the Hawthorns. Whilst the Clarets are yet to pick up a point, they will also be hopeful of getting off the mar, with West Brom recording the joint-worst goal difference of -8. so far.

The Baggies have let in 13 goals in four games and by having the worst defensive record in the Premier League this season, Slaven Bilic's men also squandered a three-goal lead against Chelsea three weeks ago.

Burnley, on the other hand, have lost all three league games so far, but they have bagged three goals themselves. We're tipping the odds of 23/10 for the draw.

Leeds United vs Wolves - BTTS Draw 100/30

Free-flowing Leeds United take on Wolverhampton Wanderers as they look to continue their strong, energetic start to the season.

Bielsa’s side have caught the eye of many this season with their unique, demanding style of play and have been one of the more entertaining sides already, in their return to the top flight.

On the other hand, Wolves haven’t looked themselves recently, scraping a 1-0 win against struggling Fulham and losing the three games previous in all competitions, including a damning 4-0 defeat away to West Ham United. However, like Leeds, the break has given them the chance to hit the reset button and make the adjustments needed to start playing the style of play that we are used to seeing from Nuno’s side.

Sky Bet are offering odds of 100/30 for the result to be a draw, with both teams scoring, whilst you can also get odds of 16/1 for both teams to score in both halves.
