Latest News

VVV Venlo vs Sparta Rotterdam Odds: 20/23

The first game to feature on this list is VVV Venlo against Sparta Rotterdam, with the away side coming into this match as favourites, as they sit 13th in the league, two points above VVV who are 15th.

Venlo currently have the worst defence in the division, having conceded 66 in 24 matches. The over 2.5 goals market has landed in their last five matches of which they were beaten in them all, conceding 20 times, including their 6-0 loss to Feyenoord at De Kuip on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Sparta have been involved in two games from their last five with over 2.5 goals, as they fell to defeats against Ajax and Fortuna Sittard.

Venlo’s Georgios Giakoumakis is the current top scorer in the Eredivisie, with 23 goals in 23 matches, which is impressive considering the fact this his side currently sit in 15th place.

This game is priced at 20/23 to have over 2.5 goals in it, which is fair when you consider Venlo’s woeful defensive record.

Plymouth Argyle vs Wigan Athletic Odds: 4/5

Next up is Plymouth Argyle against Wigan Athletic at Home Park. Argyle are currently 14th, seven points off the playoffs, whilst the Latics sit in 23rd place, just one point adrift of safety.

The over 2.5 goals market has landed in three of Plymouth’s last five matches, including a dramatic 4-3 win over Lincoln City on 27th February. This market has also come off in four of Wigan’s last five outings, most recently in their 3-0 thrashing of MK Dons at the DW Stadium, thanks to goals from George Johnston, Callum Lang and Joe Dodoo.

The Latics have the second-worst defence in League One, having conceded 60 goals this season, whilst Argyle have conceded 53 goals. Plymouth also have the fourth top scorer in the division in Luke Jephcott, who has found the back of the net 16 times in 29 matches.

This game has the odds of 4/5 to have over 2.5 goals, which considering the poor defensive records of both sides, this seems a fair price.

Sporting Braga vs Vitoria Guimaraes Odds: 20/21

Sporting Braga take on Vitoria Guimaraes on Tuesday night at the Braga Municipal Stadium, with the home side sitting third in the league, whilst Vitoria are sixth.

Braga’s last three-game against Nacional, AS Roma and Tondela, have all had over 2.5 goals in them, whilst the over 2.5 goals market has landed in Guimaraes’ last four matches, against Rio Ave, Farense, Pacos De Ferreira and Boavista, with Vitoria winning the latter game 2-1.

This game sees the third and sixth top scorers in Liga NOS go head-to-head, with Braga pushing to catch second place Porto in the league, whilst Vitoria are just six points behind Pacos De Ferreira who are in the final Europa League qualification place.

The Odds of 20/21 are fair due to the nature of the game, as it is a must-win for both sides, and considering their goalscoring records and recent matches, there could be plenty of goals.

Port Vale vs Oldham Athletic Odds: 17/20

Port Vale take on Oldham Athletic in League Two at Vale Park, with Vale just five points above the drop zone, whilst the Latics are 16th.

Port Vale’s last match had over 2.5 goals in it, as they lost 3-2 away at Cheltenham on the weekend.

The over 2.5 goals market has landed twice in Oldham’s last five matches, most recently against Carlisle United at Brunton Park where three goals in the last 20 minutes from Marcel Hillsner, Dylan Bahamboula and Carl Piergianni sealed a 3-1 win for Harry Kewell’s side late last month.

Oldham tend to be an exciting team to watch, as they have scored 49 goals, the second-most in the division, whilst having the worst defensive record, conceding 56 times in 32 matches.

Vale against Oldham is priced at 17/20 to have over 2.5 goals in it, and it is easy to see why when considering the away side’s statistics.

Juventus vs FC Porto Odds: 4/5

The final game on this list comes from the UEFA Champions League, as Juventus face FC Porto on Tuesday night, with the Italian outfit trailing 2-1 from the first leg.

Four of Juve’s last five matches have had over 2.5 goals in them, including the return leg. Since then the Old Lady have beaten the likes of Crotone 3-0, Spezia 3-0 and Lazio 3-1 last weekend, where they rested the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo.

Meanwhile, the first leg of this tie in mid-February was the last time Porto were involved in a game that had over 2.5 goals.

Andrea Pirlo’s side have scored 51 goals in 25 Serie A matches so far this season, whilst their last five matches in the Champions League have had over 2.5 goals in them, including their 3-0 hammering of Barcelona at the Nou Camp in the group stages.

With Juventus needing to score in order to get through this tie, there surely be chances at both ends of the pitch, as despite losing 3-1 at the Etihad against Manchester City in the group stages, Porto showed that they are capable of giving anyone a game.

This game is priced at 4/5 to have over 2.5 goals in it, which again is fair due to the nature of the tie, with the emphasis being on Juventus to score goals whilst Porto will know that away goals could be significant if they are to progress in the competition.
