Brazil vs Chile Prediction

Brazil and Chile will clash in a World Cup Qualifiers group stage match as the hosts here have already secured safe passage into the tournament at Qatar 2022 just as Chile travel to the five-time world champions with an almighty mountain to climb.

Alexis Sanchez and co. sit on just 19 points from 16 games in the South American qualifiers, which now puts them sixth in the table and outside of the automatic qualification spots. Peru currently occupies the fifth spot which puts them into the play-offs as of how for which chile trail Peur by three points. Moreover, with a four-point gap on the top four automatic spots, Uruguay will also be confident in holding off this out-of-form Chile team.

Worse yet for the nation, Chile have lost seven times, won just five games from 16 fixtures, and conceded 20 goals compared to them netting just 19 of their own. It means this game is now a must-win for La Roja, and with only two games remaining after this one, any further dropped points and there is a serious chance the likes of Sanchez and Arturo Vidal do not make it to the World Cup at the end of this.

We're tipping both Neymar and Sanchez to score here, with the game being to important for Chile.

Brazil team news

Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson has pulled out of the Brazil squad due to illness, and although Atletico Mineiro's Everson has been called up as his replacement, Alisson Becker will start as the country's number one again here.

Emerson Royal, who like Militao was also suspended for their last game, has not been called up to Brazil's squad, as Danilo and long-term legend Dani Alves battle for the right-back position. At left-back, Alex Telles or Guilherme Arana will play here and they will battle it out together.

Casemiro could return to the starting XI ahead of Fabinho as they never usually at together, while Lucas and Philippe Coutinho may keep their places with Fred, Arthur and Bruno Guimaraes all likely sitting on the bench.

Neymar missed the last three World Cup qualifiers due to injury, and he is expected to return to the team here with Richarlison and Vinicius Junior ready to come in here too. Roberto Firmino and Gabriel Jesus have not made the Brazil squad here this month either, so attackers Antony, Rodrygo and Gabriel Martinelli could all feature on Thursday.

Chile team news

Claudio Bravo remains the club's number one as he tries to get ahead of Alexis Sanchez in the all-time caps list, with Brayan Cortes still not ready to come into the setup into the starting XI. Gary Medel should play here too along with Mauricio Isla. Paulo Diaz, Enzo Roco, and Sebastian Vegas should all get a say here too, while Arturo Vidal, harles Aránguiz, and Erick Pulgar play in midfield for Chile. Alexis Sanchez is the main man up top still, with Ben Brereton Diaz set to play as well for Chile once more alongside Eduardo Vargas.
