Bundesliga Betting: Where Your Bets Were Won and Lost on Matchday 26

Free-scoring Dortmund rake in the money

If you bet on the Bundesliga prior to the suspension, you won't have been surprised by the 4-0 demolition from Borussia Dortmund over rivals Schalke. From the first whistle to the last, BVB were in control and could have maybe had even more on the scoreline.

Unsurprisingly, Erling Haaland opened the scoring with his 10th Bundesliga in nine games, which also brought in the Footy Accums tip for the preview of 'Haaland to score and win' at 6/4. Elsewhere, the over 2.5 goals and goals in both halves came in, whilst the many punters who backed Mats Hummels and co. to keep a clean sheet and win, did very well.

Moving forward, this Dortmund side are well in the title race and betting against them is a risk. Haaland clearly isn't slowing down, Jadon Sancho isn't yet 100%, and Marco Reus never even played, whilst the likes of Thorgan Hazard, Raphaël Guerreiro and Julian Brandt are looking very promising - one of our followers even won big on Hazard to score from outside the area!

This young Dortmund side are fresh and ready for battle and their 9/2 odds to win the title is looking more promising by the day. Up next for Dortmund is the trip to Wolfsburg, where the Black and Yellow are a solid price of 3/4 to win, whilst Augsburg showed on Saturday that their Wolfsburg defence is wide open at times.

RB Leipzig let us down

RB Leipzig's 1-1 draw with Freiburg was the upset of the weekend as Bundesliga action resumed. Leipzig were huge favourites heading into the fixture, having lost a league-low three games all season but failed to break down the stubborn Freiburg defence, despite registering 20 shots and having 61% of the ball.

This ruined the FA Bundesliga Bonus Acca of 17/1 and destroyed many accas out there! Many of our followers backed the 'Leipzig win' or 'over 2.5 goals', which seemed a banker, and had to sit back and watch Timo Werner and co. register shot after shot without a goal.

Perhaps this is just a minor slip up in the constant evolution of this impressive Red Bulls side, as they do, after all, boast the lowest loss record for a reason. Some of our followers did back the draw and a Freiburg win, with the latter letting one of our followers down for £9k because of the late VAR goal!

All in all, Leipzig were the acca killer of the weekend.

Koln and Mainz show us how close the Bundesliga is

The Bundesliga is a close league and is much tougher than many give credit for. Yes, Bayern Munich run away with the league almost every year, but positions behind the top spot are exceptionally competitive.

This was proven as 10th placed Koln battled relegation fighting Mainz, and forfeited a 2-0 lead in the process. Of course, this means the 'over 2.5 goals' came in, whilst the draw priced at 27/10 was where the money was at this weekend.

However, do remember, that a game as such shows just how easy an over 2.5 goals bet can come in. Hopefully, we've learned a lot from this one at how close the Bundesliga is and perhaps we should back the draw a little more often...

Elsewhere in this one, the Sky Bet Premium Boost from 25/1 to 40/1 almost came in, with a Serge Gnabry goal the only aspect letting some of our followers down for hundreds! Be sure to keep an eye out for these in the future.

Gladbach bettors win big

Borussia Monchengladbach have had a great season for their standards and need to be considered more in the accas. Gladbach were as high as 13/10 with some bookmakers, despite sitting fourth in the table. And, in truth, the Foals never looked in trouble even when Andre Silva scored late on.

Many of our followers back the prolific Marcus Thuram to score, which brought in some cash, at the same time, the 'over 2.5 goals' theme continued in this one, where the money also came in.

One of our bettors managed to prize £190 after predicting the 3-1 scoreline, whilst another punter won huge with this bet!

Moving forward, it seems as if Gladbach have returned to their goalscoring ways and do not look like slowing down. Thuram, Alassane Plea and co. are moving up the goalscoring charts and backing them for 'over 2.5 goals' and choosing a dedicated goalscorer isn't such a bad shout.

There was a lot won in this game, and it prized a lot of winnings for our followers. Keep an eye on this young, exciting Gladbach this campaign when choosing your bets.

Hertha Berlin steal the show, and many bets

Hertha Berlin were a fabulous acca builder this weekend, but at the same time, destroyed many. One of our followers cashed out for just short of £200 after backing Berlin to win outright, whilst there were many others out there who won big with this game on Saturday.

At the same time, we are yet to see anybody back the 3-0 win for Berlin, but this was, of course, tough to predict. However, at odds of 23/10 with some bookies for a Hertha win, this was where some of the biggest prizes were at for the weekend.

Yet again, this result just goes to show how tough the Bundesliga is and how there are goals galore in the German top-flight. After all, there have now been over 700 goals in the Bundesliga this campaign and there were only two positions in the table that separated Hertha and Hoffenheim prior to this match.

Once again, moving forward, consider backing more goals for these ones and having a good look at the Bundesliga table to see just how close the teams are.

Bayern struggle for over 2.5 goals

Bayern won, but the odds for this were low, so not many backed them outright. However, the champions are the highest scorers and have the best defensive record, meaning they are likely to keep a clean sheet.

Hans-Dieter Flick's side are on course for a record 29th title, and in truth, did not look at all in trouble against Union Berlin. Betting on Bayern to make some cash is tough, especially when you consider they were only 4/5 to score over 2.5 goals - something they failed to do in their 2-0 win.

However, some of our followers backed the 'Bayern Munich and no' for the BTTS and FT result, which was a healthy EVENS with Sky Bet and made for a solid acca builder.

No doubt Bayern are the title favourites with odds of 1/5, and after bagging 75 goals in 26 games, it's perhaps wise to stick with the 'over 2.5 goals' or 'BTTS and no' for this fantastic side.
