      Juventus vs Man City Prediction

With both sides in indifferent form, we expect the points to be shared in this game. Juventus are unbeaten in their previous nine, although they have drawn their last four in all competitions – in which the last two scorelines have resulted in both teams scoring. The Italians are unbeaten in the last four meetings with Manchester City, with the Citizens failing to keep a clean sheet in four.

Pep Guardiola's side have drawn two of their previous four in all competitions - including their most recent draw with Crystal Palace. Less than 2.5 goals have been scored in six of the previous seven involving Juventus. – Juventus 1-1 Man City

Juventus vs Man City: Preview & Prediction

Man City travel to Juventus in the Champions League with both teams in desperate need for a win to keep pace with the top eight of the table.

      Date: 11/12/24

      Kick-off time: 20:00

      Venue: Allianz Stadium

As the Champions League reaches matchday six, both Juventus and Man City have work to do if they are to progress automatically to the knockout stages of the competition. The Italians currently sit in 19th place with eight points. They are just two points adrift of Monaco in eighth, so a win would keep them within reach or potentially see them overtake. However, they are winless in their last three European games with two draws and a defeat.

It is a similar story for Man City, who are in the middle of a drastic downturn in form which has seen them win just once in nine games in all competitions. This includes defeat at Sporting, in which they lost 4-1 and a 3-3 draw at home to Feyenoord, where they blew a 3-0 lead. It has left them in 17th place, level on points with their upcoming opponents.

Goals could be a feature in this game, with City’s defense so vulnerable in recent weeks. Pep Guardiola’s side have conceded at least two goals in eight of their last nine games. However, they come up against a Juventus attack which has been involved in two goalless draws in their last four games. If the hosts are to threaten, Dusan Vlahovic is poised to be the danger man. The Serbian has scored six league goals so far in addition to three in the Champions League.

For City, they have scored eight in their last four, despite only winning once. After a spell of difficulties in front of goal, it seems as if they are regaining confidence going forward. Erling Haaland scored in their most recent game against Crystal Palace, his 13th league goal of the season. He also has five in five in Europe. Juventus have kept three clean sheets in their last five games.

This will be just the seventh meeting between these two sides in history. Juventus have the edge in this matchup with three wins to City’s one and two draws. They have not faced off since 2015, when they were drawn together in the Champions League group stages. Juventus won both games, 2-1 at the Etihad and 1-0 at home. Mario Mandzukic scored the winning goal. City’s only win against their opposition came in 1976, a 1-0 victory in the UEFA Cup.

      Form Guide

      Juventus:

In their last five games, Juventus have won one and drawn four. It has been a poor run of form for Juventus with wins hard to come by despite going undefeated. The first game of this run was a 2-0 home win over Torino. Timothy Weah and Kenan Yıldız were the goalscorers.

A goalless draw followed away at title rivals AC Milan. There were limited chances for both sides as neither were able to find the breakthrough. They repeated this scoreline in their Champions League fixture at Aston Villa as the hosts had a very late goal disallowed by VAR.

They returned to league action, taking on Lecce away from home. It was more dropped points as they were held to a 1-1 draw. Andrea Cambiaso gave Juventus the lead before Ante Rebic equalised for the home side in the 93rd minute. Their most recent game was a home fixture with Bologna. They drew once more, the final result 2-2. The hosts went 2-0 down, but recovered with strikes from Teun Koopmeiners and Samuel Mbangula, including a 92nd minute equaliser.

      Man City:

In their last five games, Man City have won one, drawn two and lost two. It has been a disastrous run of form for City which has seen them fall behind in the title race. The first game of this run was a stunning result at home to Tottenham as they were crushed 4-0. James Maddison (x2), Pedro Porro and Brennan Johnson were on the scoresheet.

City finally snapped what was a five-game losing streak at home to Feyenoord, but they dropped more points in extraordinary fashion. After taking a 3-0 lead, they allowed their visitors back into it in the final 14 minutes, including conceding an 89th minute equaliser. However, it was another loss as they faced Liverpool in a huge clash at Anfield. Goals from Cody Gakpo and Mohamed Salah condemned them to a 2-0 defeat.

A home game against Nottingham Forest saw them pick up a first victory in over a month as they won 3-0. Bernardo Silva opened the scoring before further strikes from Kevin De Bruyne and Jeremy Doku. Last time out they travelled to Crystal Palace, and they were held to a 2-2 draw. Daniel Munoz gave Palace the lead early, but Erling Haaland got them back on level terms. Maxence Lacroix restored the hosts’ lead but Rico Lewis ensured the points were shared before being shown a second yellow card later on.
