Teemu Pukki: 6/1

Pukki is the favourite to win the Championship Golden Boot for good reason considering the two previous seasons he has spent in the Championship for Norwich City, scoring a very impressive 55 goals in 84 appearances in the English second division.

Norwich have been a yo-yo team in recent years, too good for the championship but not good enough for the Premier League, and despite having a different manager to previous campaigns in Dean Smith, Norwich are again one of the favourites to gain promotion back to the top division, giving Pukki a great platform to grab a second Championship top scorer award.

Joel Piroe: 9/1

Despite Swansea’s struggles last season, finishing a disappointing 15th place, Piroe had a great first season for the club after joining from PSV last summer, scoring 22 goals to be the joint third highest scorer at just 22 years old.

If Swansea can regain some of the form that got them to the play-off final two seasons ago, then Piroe can explode with even more goals with a better-structured team around him that will provide him with better service.

Even if Swansea can’t improve next season, Piroe showed last season that even in a dysfunctional system, he has bags of ability to be the top scorer next season.

Ben Brereton-Diaz: 10/1

Ben Brereton-Diaz surprised a lot of people last season by becoming the joint third highest scorer last season, netting 22 goals in 37 games for Blackburn, helping them secure their best-placed finish for eight years.

What could harm Brereton-Diaz next season is that Blackburn have lost a lot of key players in the summer and are yet to replace them, so the service next season may not be there for him to score as many goals, but if he still continues to improve, he should still be able to score a good amount of goals next season.

Daryl Dike: 14/1

There was a lot of hype for Dike after moving from Orlando City to West Brom in January, but injuries derailed his season, making only three appearances for the Baggies, but this season he will start afresh, with manager Steve Bruce stating he will be the clubs’ main man.

Dike had a good time in his six-month loan spell in the Championship for Barnsley, scoring nine goals in only 19 appearances and only 13 starts, which gave Dike’s move to West Brom a lot of hype and if his injuries are behind him, he could be what helps propel West Brom to the promotion battle that was expected of them last season.

Emmanuel Dennis: 16/1

Dennis had a good debut Premier League campaign last season, being Watford’s top scorer with 10 goals, but also their top creator with six assists and he will be expected to carry Watford back to the top division with even better performances.

Watford will have one of, if not the best squads in the Championship next season and are favoured to gain automatic promotion, and in a team expected to dominate games and playing against lesser competition, Dennis could be a dark horse to grab the golden boot.

Jay Rodriguez: 16/1

Rodriguez has spent one season in the Championship in his career, in the 2018/19 season for West Brom, and he had a great season, scoring 22 goals in 45 appearances, but now with even more Premier League experience to his game, he could be well suited for a great season for Vincent Kompany’s Burnley.

With Wout Weghorst having left on loan, Kompany will have to rely on Rodriguez as his main source of goals this season, and if Kompany has a positive effect on the Clarets next season, it could give Rodriguez a lot of chances to grab goals next season.

Karlan Grant: 16/1

Grant had a great end to last season, scoring eight goals in his last 11 appearances, helping West Brom end the season on a bit of a high after failing to meet the expectations of returning to the Premier League.

If Grant can quickly gain a relationship with strike partner Daryl Dike, then an exciting attacking duo can form and will put fear into Championship defences next season. If Grant uses his larger Championship experience of Dike, he could end up netting more goals than the American.
