Footy Accumulator's Betting Guide to Cheltenham Festival

The 2022 Cheltenham Festival is here and bettors globally will be prepping their bets for the biggest four days on the horse racing calendar. The Cheltenham Festival is the most prestigious event for horse racing fans when it comes to betting, as there are so many races to bet on so frequently over the course of the four days.

We understand, as football fans, that not everybody is entirely clued up on horse racing but would like to get involved in the action, even if it's just a couple of quid a day. During the Cheltenham Festival, bookmakers are offering fantastic prices and offers each day, so be sure to stick around our 'Free Bets' page to see what bookmakers are offering throughout the festival.

There will be seven races each day at Cheltenham Festival over the four days, with the first race of each day getting underway at 13:30. The biggest races or 'Bumper Races' are always held at 15:30 each day, although each event is enticingly different and offers punters a chance to bet and make a profit.

Here, at Footy Accumulators, we have put together a beginners betting guide to Cheltenham Festival, detailing how best to bet your money, whilst delving into the exclusive offers and Cheltenham Festival tips from our team.

Use Bookmaker Offers Wisely

The Cheltenham festival is one of the biggest betting weeks of the year and that means a variety of bookmakers are all offering enticing offers for new and existing customers. As mentioned, stick around our 'Free Bets' page to keep on top of all the best offers and use them wisely.

Sky Bet often has fantastic offers each day of the festival. One of their most popular in previous years is that they offer New and existing customers a risk-free £10 bet on the first race of each day, with the £10 being refunded in cash if your horse doesn’t win.

So, make sure you head over to our Free Bets section of Footy Accumulators, where we detail the best offers for this though out the week of the festival. These often change so it's worth checking back each day before the first race kicks off at 1:30.

Cheltenham Festival Multiples Can be Profitable

Many will be looking at the races and placing single bets across the week, however, multiples can be profitable. There are many different multiple bets available for punters and they can increase winnings if used properly. Most popular multiple bets will be doubles and trebles, selecting two or three horses, and putting them into one bet.

This is usually best done when you fancy a few horses at short prices and combing them could to maximise profit. In 2022, there a few short-priced favourites, such as Honeysuckle and Shishkin to name two and a double of the two would increase winnings as compared to two singles bets.

One of the most popular multiple bets however is the Lucky 15, these are more difficult to land but can be the most profitable if won. The Lucky 15 bet consists of choosing four horses and combining them to create a bet that contains 15 separate bets - singles, doubles, trebles and the four-fold. You only need one of the horses to win or place to get some of your money back. We'll be looking to share a lucky 15 bet throughout the four days of the festival so look out for that shared on our social channels every morning before the racing starts!
