      AC Milan vs Inter Milan: Preview, Prediction & Betting Tips

      The Milan derby comes to the San Siro this Monday in Serie A. Inter Milan and AC Milan occupy the top two spots, with Inter looking to extend their lead at the top whereas AC Milan aim to reduce the gap as much as possible.

      Inter Milan are far out of reach of AC Milan, and could clinch the title any time soon, with a big win over rivals AC Milan putting them in touching distance. AC Milan, however, will be looking to keep a hold of the second spot over Juventus.

      AC Milan currently sit second in the Serie A after 32 games. The Rossoneri have 21 wins, six draws and five losses, leaving them on 69 points, 14 points behind Inter Milan.

      Simone Inzaghi only has the injury to Stefan de Vrij to manage, with Lautauro Martinez and Benjamin Pavard both able to return from a yellow card suspension.

      Theo Hernandez opened the scoring for AC Milan just before the halftime whistle and Christian Pulisic doubled the lead over Verona five minutes into the second half. Tijjani Noslin did get Verona on the scoresheet just after the hour mark but a late goal from Samuel Chukwueze grabbed a 3 - 1 win for AC Milan.

      The clash against Fiorentina saw all three goals come in a six minute period. After a goalless first half, Ruben Loftus-Cheek gave AC Milan the lead two minutes into the second half, but Alfred Duncan equalised for Fiorentina just three minutes later. However, a goal from Rafael Leao another three minutes later gave AC Milan the 2 - 1 win.

      Another win came AC Milan’s way against Lecce. Pulisic opened the scoring in the sixth minute and Olivier Giroud doubled the lead on the 20 minute mark. Following the red card to Nikola Krstovic on the stroke of halftime, Leao scored in the second half to wrap up a 3 - 0 win for AC Milan.

      In the first leg of the Europa League Quarter Finals, AC Milan hosted Roma. Gianluca Mancini scored the only goal of the game in the 17th minute to give Roma the 1 - 0 win.

      The second leg of the Champions League Round of 16 saw Inter Milan in Spain to take on Atletico Madrid. After Inter picked up a 1 - 0 win in the first leg, they were in the driving seat. Federico Dimarco opened the scoring for Inter but goals from Antoine Griezmann and Memphis Depay gave Atletico the 2 - 1 win and took the tie to penalties. Misses from Martinez, Davy Klasssen and Alexis Sanchez gave Atletico the 3 - 2 win.

      Back in the Serie A, Inter hosted Napoli. Matteo Darmian gave Inter the lead just before halftime but a late goal in the last ten minutes from Juan Jesus rescued a 1 - 1 draw for Napoli.

      Inter were finally back to winning ways against Empoli. Dimarco opened the scoring in the fifth minute and Sanchez wrapped up the 2 - 0 win with his goal in the 81st minute.

      Despite Lazar Samardzic giving Udinese the 1 - 0 lead at halftime, a penalty from Hakan Calhanoglu levelled the game ten minutes into the second half. However, Davide Frattesi popped up with a goal in the 95th minute to give Inter the 2 -1 win.

      The last time out for Inter Milan was against Cagliari. Marcus Thuram opened the scoring to give Inter the lead at halftime, but Eldor Shomurodov equalised for Cagliari just after the hour mark. A penalty from Calhanoglu regained the lead for Inter, but a late goal from Nicolas Viola forced the 2 - 2 draw.
