AS Monaco and Bayer Leverkusen go head to head in the Europa League, with the Ligue 1 side holding a 3-2 lead from the away leg, thanks to an own goal by Lukas Hradecky, as well as goals from Krepin Diatta and Axel Disasi.
The home side are in terrific form, having won all of their last five games, defeating Brest 2-1 after their win in Leverkusen, on top of further victories against PSG 3-1, Clermont Foot 2-0 and Auxerre 3-2 prior to last Thhursday’s first leg in Germany.
Leverkusen’s defeat to Monaco also carried over into their last German Bundesliga match, as they were beaten 3-2 at home by Mainz in a match that they were seemingly always chasing, as goals from Nadem Amiri and Patrick Schick drew them level on two separate occasions before Marcus Ingvartsen scored an 82nd-minute winner.
