Lazio welcome AC Milan to Stadio Olimpico for the Friday Night football in the Serie A. AC Milan are aiming to close in on second-place Juventus whereas Lazio need a win to get back in contention for European football next season.

Despite rivals Inter Milan running away at the top of the league, AC Milan have the chance to grab second place in Serie A. Lazio, however, need a win to battle for a spot in the Europa League or the Champions League.

Lazio currently sit seventh in Serie A after 25 games. Lazio have 12 wins, four draws and 10 losses, leaving Lazio on 40 points, six points outside of the Europa League spot and eight points from the Champions League spots.

Lazio have faltered in front of goal this season, scoring 32 goals in 26 games. At the other end of the pitch, however, Lazio have been better, conceding 28 goals and keeping nine clean sheets.

AC Milan, on the other hand, currently sit third in Serie A. In 26 games, Milan have 16 wins, five draws and five losses which leaves them on 53 points, four points from Juventus and 13 points from top-of-the-league Inter Milan.

Milan, on the other hand, have performed in front of goal this season. In 26 games, Milan have scored 50 goals. However, at the other end of the pitch, Milan have struggled, conceding 32 goals but keeping nine clean sheets.

Lazio and AC Milan have met 51 times since 2004. AC Milan have the better record in the fixture with 24 wins in comparison to Lazio’s ten wins. In fact, a draw is more common than a Lazio win in this fixture, happening on 16 occasions.

In the last five games in this fixture there have been four AC Milan wins and just one win for Lazio. Also, in the last seven games in the fixture, there has only been one game with both teams on the scoresheet.

          Recent Form

In their last five games in all competitions, Lazio have three wins and three losses.

A goal from Mario Pasalic and a penalty from Charles De Ketelaere gave Atalanta the 2 - 0 lead over Lazio at halftime. De Ketelaere completed his brace with 15 minutes to go making Ciro Immobile’s penalty a consolation goal as Atalanta grabbed the 3 - 1 win.

Lazio bounced back against Cagliari. An Alessandro Deiola own goal gave Lazio the lead at halftime and Immobile doubled the lead early in the second half. Gianluca Gaetano got Cagliari on the scoresheet two minutes later but a goal from Felipe Anderson secured the 3 - 1 win for Lazio, with Simone Aresti sent off late on for Cagliari.

In the first leg of the Champions League Round of 16, Lazio hosted Bayern Munich. Following the red card to Bayern’s Dayot Upamecano, Immobile converted his penalty to grab a 1 - 0 win for Lazio.

Back in Serie A, Lazio took on Bologna. Gustav Isaksen opened the scoring for Lazio but goals from Oussama El Azzouzi and Joshua Zirkzee gave Bologna the 2 - 1 win.

The last time out for Lazio was against Torino. After a goalless first half, Matteo Guendouzi and Danilo Cataldi both scored early on in the second half. Gila was sent off for Lazio with ten minutes to go but Lazio held on for the 2 - 0 win.

In their last five games in all competitions, AC Milan have…

Despite having just 40% of the possession against Napoli, Theo Hernandez scored the only goal of the game for AC Milan to give them the 1 - 0 win.

In the first leg of the Europa League Round of 32, AC Milan hosted French side Rennes. Ruben Loftus-Cheek’s first goal gave Milan the 1 - 0 lead at halftime. Loftus-Cheek then secured his brace early in the second half and was joined on the scoresheet by Rafael Leao in the 3 - 0 win for AC Milan.

Back in the Serie A, Milan suffered a shock loss to Monza. A penalty from Matteo Pessina and a goal from Dany Mota gave Monza the 2 - 0 lead at halftime. Despite the red card to Luka Jovic early in the second half, Olivier Giroud and Christian Pulisic both scored to level the game with just two minutes to go. However, a 90th-minute goal from Warren Bondo and a 95th-minute goal from Lorenzo Colombo gave Monza the 4 - 2 win.

In the second leg of the Europa League Round of 32, AC Milan took on Rennes again. Jovic and Leao were on the scoresheet for Milan but a hat-trick from Benjamin Bourigeaud gave Rennes the 3 - 2 win.

The most recent outing for AC Milan was against Atalanta. Leao was on the scoresheet again for AC Milan, this time early on in the third minute. However, a penalty from Teun Koopmeiners brought Atalanta level before halftime. However, neither team could find another goal and had to settle for a 1 - 1 draw.
