Isaac Hadjar started his F1 career off in ignominious fashion; having put in an impressive lap to start 11th in Australia, he spun off on the formation lap. One can only imagine how he felt in the moments after...
Lesser people would have struggled under the pressure, but Hadjar has been arguably the standout rookie since then. His finishing positions have been:
- China - 11th
- Japan - 8th
- Bahrain - 13th
- Saudi Arabia - 10th
- Miami - 11th
- Emilia Romagna - 9th
- Monaco - 6th
- Spain - 7th
He has qualified in the top 10 more times than he has missed out of Q3 (five out of nine),
His form certainly hasn't gone unnoticed. Rumours of yet another Red Bull driver switch appeared over the weekend with Hadjar being touted as the next option. He's admitted he "doesn't feel ready" at the moment, but it highlights the superb job he is doing for the junior team.
Canada's emphasis is on braking confidence and adaptability, especially to weather conditions, will suit the Frenchman, and Evens is a great price for him to finish in the Top 10.
