13:50 - Windsor - No Questions Asked

Grade Two action kicks off ITV’s coverage on Friday, with five runners going to post in the Lightning Novices’ Chase.

This stiff test at Windsor could suit No Questions Asked for the combination of Ben Jones and Ben Pauling. The eight-year-old was a winner over two miles and three at Ascot on his return in November, before finishing a close second behind Wendigo over two miles and four at Newbury.

This drop back in trip should suit, having won twice over hurdles during an impressive novices’ campaign last term.

14:05 - Market Rasen - Bill Baxter

Market Rasen will also be covered on ITV this Friday. The likable Bill Baxter could have a golden opportunity to record a sixth win over fences for the Warren Greatrex yard.

He ran well over the National fences last month when sixth in the Beecher Handicap Chase. Meanwhile, he was a winner over an extended three miles at Punchestown in May.

His second behind Welsh National victor Haiti Couleurs over hurdles looks very strong form, and he looks more than capable off this mark in this company.

14:25 - Windsor - Alfie’s Princess

Alfie’s Princess looks like a standout chance in the Mares’ Handicap Chase at 14:25.

The nine-year-old for Sam Thomas defied a lengthy break to make a winning return to action on Boxing Day, beating Clotilda by an easy three-length margin.

She has won once from two starts over fences, and remains unexposed in this company. The former point-to-point winner will be suited by the ground and course, and she comes out on top based on RPRs.

14:40 - Market Rasen - Malina Road

The final ITV race from Market Rasen on Friday is a National Hunt Flat Race over an extended two miles.

As expected, plenty will have leading claims, but Malina Road could be worth following for the Fergal O’Brien yard. The six-year-old was a winner of a point-to-point last March, and she made a striking impression on debut at Ludlow last month when quickly putting two lengths between herself and the field.

Is likely to improve following that effort, and is well worth a chance at the prices.

15:00 - Windsor - Nemean Lion

The penultimate race from Windsor on ITV this Friday is the trappy Class Two Weatherbys Cheltenham Festival Betting Guide Hurdle.

Altobelli could be interesting if bouncing back to form. But, the safest option could be the previous course and distance winner, Nemean Lion. The nine-year-old for Kerry Lee ran a big race in third when beaten just under two lengths by Golden Ace in the Grade One Fighting Fifth.

He isn’t at that standard, but this drop in class should suit his chances after racking up three straight wins between December and February last season, which included a win in this race.

15:20 - Newcastle - Berkshire Whisper

ITV also covers a race on the all-weather from Newcastle this week, with a six-furlong AWC Sprint Trial seeing a field of 14 runners.

Berkshire Whisper could be an interesting angle for the in-form Andrew Balding yard, with Oisin Murphy taking the ride.

The four-year-old has won three from six starts on the all-weather, and has previous winning form over course and distance. Should be tuned up for this race after making two starts at the end of last year.

15:35 - Windsor - Live Conti

The red-hot Dan Skelton yard will be represented by Live Conti in the final race from Windsor on Friday.

The five-year-old has won twice from four starts over hurdles, and was an eye-catching second behind the highly talented Murica in the Grade One 4-Y-O Juvenile Hurdle at the Grand National meeting in April.

Ran below form on his return to action when tenth at Ascot, but should strip fitter for that effort, and holds obvious claims if back on track.
