13:30 - Wincanton - Silver Thorn

ITV’s coverage on Saturday kicks off at Wincanton. Emma Lavelle has been among the winners over the festive period, and Silver Thorn still looks an unexposed runner over three miles.

He was a standout winner last time when beating Ladronne by 13 lengths. Has bundles of stamina, and his jumping should make him the one to beat with Paul O’Brien aboard this weekend.

13:50 - Sandown - Jet Plane

Jet Plane was a winner over two miles and four last time, beating Moonshine Man by over nine lengths. Has been given a massive hike at the weights, but looks likely to go in again based on his run at Leicester.

The connections of Dan and Harry Skelton deserve huge respect, and the selection has form mixed in with runners at higher levels, including when seventh in the Grand Sefton in November.

14:05 - Wincanton - Him Malaya

Previous course and distance scorer Him Malaya could be difficult to beat at Wincanton on Saturday. The Paul Nicholls yard has come alive over the festive period, and the selection wasn’t beaten far over two miles and three at Taunton last month.

The drop back in trip and return to Wincanton will play to his strength, and Olive Nicholls is a notable booking after clocking up two winners from her last five rides.

14:25 - Sandown - That’ll Do Moss

Jubilee Alpha could be challenging to beat in the Listed Mares’ Hurdle at Sandown, but she could be opposable following an underwhelming effort last time.

There could be improvement to come in That’ll Do Moss for the Fergal O’Brien yard.

The seven-year-old was an eye-catching fourth on her latest start at Kempton, and she ran a big race in Ireland last season when beaten just two lengths by the talented Aurora Vega. At the prices, she is the balance play.

14:40 - Wincanton - Maldini Milano

Freddie Gingell will take the ride on Maldini Milano in a competitive handicap hurdle over an extended two miles and five on Saturday.

The Nicholls yard is in red-hot form, and the six-year-old was a comfortable winner over an extended two miles and four at Plumpton last time. Should come on for that run, and he has now placed in two of his three starts over obstacles. Remains on a workable mark.

15:05 - Sandown - Credo

Some old favourites will be in action in the Veterans’ Handicap Chase over three miles at 15:05. Credo is on an eye-catching mark for the Anthony Honeyball team.

The eleven-year-old is a two-time winner over three miles, and was a pleasing fourth at Ascot last time. That track likely didn’t suit him as well as Sandown will this weekend, and Harry Cobden is a notable jockey booking.

15:35 - Sandown - Hot Fuss

ITV’s coverage rounds off with a two-mile handicap hurdle from Sandown. Hot Fuss still looks to be on a workable mark for the combination of Tom Dascombe and David Bass.

The five-year-old was high-class on the flat, and has placed in three of his five starts over hurdles. Was a close second at Ascot last time behind Wilful, and there looks to be substance to that form.
