13:20 - Sandown - Absolutely Doyen

A Pertemps Hurdle Qualifier kicks off the ITV coverage on Saturday, and as expected, a wide-open field of ten go to post.

But, the progressive Paul Nicholls-trained Absolutely Doyen could be primed to strike. The five-year-old has won on all three starts this season since joining the yard, including most recently over an extended three miles at Ascot.

Drops back in trip today with plenty to like, and Harry Cobden is aboard.

13:50 - Sandown - Lulamba

Grade One action is also on the agenda at Sandown on Saturday, with the Henry VIII Novices’ Chase run over an extended mile and seven.

Be Aware deserves plenty of respect, but he will likely thrive over further. Therefore, this could be a golden opportunity for Lulamba to showcase his Arkle credentials.

The Nicky Henderson runner made a foot-perfect chasing debut at Exeter last month, easily putting ten lengths between himself and Fingle Bridge.

There promises to be more to come, and he was considerably the best of these over hurdles.

14:05 - Aintree - Bibe Mus

An interesting Listed Juvenile Hurdle is due off at Aintree at 14:05. Bibe Mus was a talented runner on the flat in France, and has quickly made an impressive start since going over hurdles in Ireland.

The three-year-old broke his maiden over obstacles at Gowran Park in October, before finishing a very respectable third behind Mange Tout at Down Royal over two miles and one last month.

That form has been boosted since with the winner coming out and winning at Fairyhouse last weekend, giving him clear claims at the prices this weekend, with in-form James Bowen booked to take the ride.

14:25 - Sandown - Honky Tonk Highway

A competitive handicap over two miles is next up from Sandown. At a big price, Honky Tonk Highway could be an interesting selection.

The six-year-old mare was pulled up on her return at Bangor last month, but it is worth noting that it was her first start for nearly a year.

She has form over course and distance, landing a handicap at the track at the start of December in 2024 by a comfortable length.

Can stay further than today’s trip, which is a benefit, and in-form Brendan Powell is booked to take the ride. Each-way claims at the prices.

14:40 - Aintree - Galia Des Liteaux

We go over the Grand National fences at 14:40 when the 2025 Becher Handicap Chase is staged. Dan Skelton has been scooping up a lot of the big purses so far this season, and that could continue with Galia Des Liteaux in Aintree’s feature.

The nine-year-old mare has won three from 16 attempts over fences, and has a recent run under her belt after finishing fifth over three miles and two at Carlisle last month.

She thrives over these stamina-sapping tests, and has experience over the fences after finishing an excellent eighth in the Grand National in 2024.

Likely to go well this Saturday, and is handicapped to be competitive. Worth noting that five of the last six winners of the race have carried 10-10 or less.

15:00 - Sandown - Jonbon

Sandown’s feature on Saturday comes in the form of the Grade One Tingle Creek.

Il Etait Temps is a deserving favourite for the Willie Mullins yard, but could be slightly on the shorter side to consider wagering. Therefore, a gamble could be taken on Jonbon bouncing back to form.

The Henderson runner will enjoy being back away from Cheltenham, and his Sandown record is very strong, winning this race in each of the last two years.

He has to reverse the form with L’Eau du Sud, but the combination of being back at a preferred track and the fact that this is his second run after wind surgery supports his chances.

15:15 - Aintree - Rubber Ball

In-form Neil King could have a winner in the final race on the card at Aintree on Saturday.

Rubber Ball needed the run last time after finishing 14th in the Greatwood Hurdle, weakening in the closing stages. However, he looks set for a renewed effort back up to two miles and four this weekend, having won twice over obstacles during last season.

Yet to win over this far, but he was a winner of a point-to-point over three miles, and was far from disgraced over two miles and five at Warwick last November when finishing third behind Mo Shantou.

15:35 - Sandown - Invincible Nao

The London National Handicap Chase is the final televised race on ITV on Saturday. Plenty will have chances, but the unexposed Invincible Nao could be weighted to make his presence felt.

The seven-year-old represents the Gary & Josh Moore stable, and will have Caolin Quinn aboard. He made a pleasing return to action over two miles and four at Sandown last month, beating Kado De Joie by a head.

But, this race appears to have been the target. He showed progress over staying trips throughout last season, including when staying better than anything else over three miles and four at Plumpton in February.

Ground conditions will suit on Saturday, and everything points in the direction of him running a big race.
