13:50 - Newmarket - Double Rush

ITV’s coverage from Newmarket this week kicks off with a handicap over six furlongs. Andrew Balding and Oisin Murphy team up with Double Rush in the opener, who is a previous winner over course and distance.

The four-year-old will be making his first start for the Balding yard after running credibly in big field handicaps over six furlongs last summer. Typically excels when fresh, winning on return at the start of last season at Wolverhampton.

14:05 - Haydock - White Noise

Jumps action is also covered from Haydock on Tuesday, with the Listed Abram Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle due off at 14:05.

White Noise holds a clear advantage on official ratings, and was excellent at Cheltenham last time out when battling to beat Oldschool Outlaw by just under two lengths in the Grade Two Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle.

Has won four from six over hurdles, and a repeat of her Festival run makes her challenging to oppose.

14:25 - Newmarket - Shayem

The Listed Feilden Stakes is up next from Newmarket, with Isaac Newton an interesting inclusion for the Aidan O’Brien team.

However, Shayem should be forgiven for his effort on the dirt in the Saudi Derby last time. The three-year-old was progressive on the turf last season, impressively winning over a mile and an extended mile at Pontefract and Epsom, respectively.

Open to improvement now back on the turf for the Karl Burke team.

14:40 - Haydock - Riskintheground

The Grade Two Silver Trophy Handicap Chase is next up from Haydock. Riskintheground tends to thrive at this stage of the season, winning twice in April last season.

Has run below form on his last three starts, including when eleventh in the Plate Handicap Chase at Cheltenham last March. Looks back on an appealing mark for a Dan Skelton yard among the winners.

15:00 - Newmarket - Boiling Point

Race fitness could count for a lot in the Group Three Earl Of Sefton Stakes, making Boiling Point an interesting angle for the Karl Burke team.

The five-year-old was an impressive winner of the Cambridgeshire over course and distance in September, now winning twice and finishing second twice on his four trips to Newmarket.

Has the added advantage of a run under his belt after finishing a close fourth at Lingfield at the end of February.

15:35 - Newmarket - Mubasimah

A key trial for the 1000 Guineas is up next, as a talented field contests the Group Three Nell Gwyn Stakes.

Mubasimah lost very little in defeat at the end of last season when finishing a neck behind Calendar Girl in the Group Three Oh So Sharp Stakes, showing plenty of late stamina to recover after showing greenness.

Is already proven at the track after winning over course and distance on debut.
