Smart Acca Picks: Austria vs France Could Provide Plenty of Action

Denmark and Croatia go head to head in League A Group 1 with the home side top of the group following two wins from two.

Kasper Hjulmand’s side have beaten Austria and France 2-1 in each of their Nations League matches so far, meaning that each of their last four outings have seen Over 2.5 Goals scored in them, following a 3-0 friendly win over Serbia in March, as well as in a 4-2 defeat to the Netherlands.

Meanwhile, Croatia drew 1-1 with France after being thumped 3-0 at home to Austria in their opening match of the group. Prior to this, they had beaten Bulgaria 2-1 and Russia 1-0 on either side of a 1-1 draw with Slovenia.

Austria hosts France at the Ernst Happel Stadion in Vienna with Didier Deschamps's team needing a victory over facing the prospect of not qualifying from Group 1.

All of Austria’s last five games have seen the Over 2.5 Goals market land, following their 2-1 defeat to Denmark off the back of beating Croatia 3-0. Prior to these results under Ralf Rangnick, they had drawn 2-2 with Scotland after losing 2-1 to Wales and beating Moldova 4-1.

On the other hand, France could only manage a 1-1 draw with Croatia last time out as Andrej Kramaric scored a late equaliser following Adrien Rabiot’s 52nd-minute opener. Before this, Les Bleus had lost 2-1 to Denmark after thrashing South Africa 5-0 and beating the Ivory Coast 2-1 and Finland 2-0.

Next up on this list sees Albania and Isreal go up against one another in League B Group 2.

Just two of Albania’s last five games have seen Over 2.5 Goals scored in them, of which these were in 5-0 and 2-1 defeats to England and Spain on either side of a 1-0 win at home to Andorra. Since then, they have gone on to draw 0-0 with Georgia and 1-1 with Iceland.

Four of Israel’s last five matches have had Over 2.5 Goals in them, following back to back 2-2 draws with Iceland and Romania. Prior to the aforementioned results, they had lost 2-0 and 4-2 to Germany and Austria, but, did manage to beat the Faroe Islands 3-2 in between these defeats as Munas Dabbur, Shon Weissman and Dor Peretz all got on the scoresheet.

Moldova and Latvia also play on Friday in a battle of second against first in League D Group 1.

The hosts are unbeaten in their last three matches, having drawn 0-0 with Andorra after beating both Liechtenstein 2-0 and Kazakhstan 1-0 following 2-1 and 4-0 defeats to their latter opponent and South Korea.

Latvia are in superb form heading into this clash, coming in off the back of 1-0 and 3-0 victories in their opening two Nations League fixtures against Liechtenstein and Andorra. Dainis Kazakevičs men also managed 1-0 and 3-1 victories over Azerbaijan and Gibraltar on either side of a 1-1 draw with Kuwait.

The final tip on this list sees Andorra and Liechtenstein face off in League D Group 1’s other fixture.

Andorra enters this match winless in their last two matches following a 0-0 draw with Moldova after being thumped 3-0 by Latvia. Before this, they had managed back to back 1-0 wins over Grenada and St. Kitts and Nevis following a 1-0 loss to Albania.

Liechtenstein are in horrendous form entering this fixture, having lost all of their last five games, doing so to Latvia 1-0 and Moldova 2-0, as well as suffering narrow 1-0 and 2-0 defeats to the Faroe Islands and Romania on either side of a humiliating 6-0 defeat to Cape Verde.
