The Boys in Green managed to do the double of Finland in the group as they earned hard-fought 1-0 and 2-1 victories over the Finns. Ireland’s other three Nations League fixtures resulted in two 2-0 defeats to Greece as well as a 2-0 loss to England.

Greece makes the journey to Finland in League B Group 2, knowing that they must better England’s result and while simultaneously hoping that the Three Lions drop points.

Finland are yet to score a single point in the Nations League as they have suffered defeats to the Republic of Ireland (1-0 and 2-1), on top of 3-1 and 2-0 losses against England following their heavy 3-0 away defeat in Greece on matchday one.

Greece suffered a damaging 3-0 home loss to England last time out after previously earning two impressive two 2-0 wins over the Republic of Ireland on either side of a shock 2-1 victory against the Three Lions at Wembley Stadium thanks to a Vangelis Pavlidis brace. As previously mentioned, Ivan Jovanovic’s side thrashed Finland 3-0 in their Nations League opener.

Israel goes up against Belgium in what is expected to be a one-sided contest in League A Group 2.

However, Belgium’s only win in League A Group 2 was via a 3-1 scoreline at home to Israel on matchday one, thanks to goals by Kevin De Bruyne (2) and Youri Tielemans. Since then, Domenico Tedesco’s side have suffered 2-0 and 2-1 defeats to France on either side of a 2-2 draw in Italy, while last time out, they suffered a narrow 1-0 home loss to the Azzurri.

Italy go head-to-head with France in League A Group 2, as the Azzurri look to seal their place in the finals of the UEFA Nations League.

Luciano Spalletti’s side are in control of this group as they’ve accumulated 13 points from five matches, having beaten France 3-1 on matchday one, as well as Israel via 2-1 and 4-1 scorelines and Belgium 1-0 last time out. The only blot on the Azzurri’s copybook is their 2-2 home draw with Belgium on 10th October.
