Royal Ascot Day 2 ITV Racing Tips - 18th June 2025

14:30 - Ascot - Queen Mary Stakes (Group Two) - Zelaina

Karl Burke could kick off the second day of Royal Ascot with a winner, as Zelania should be difficult to beat in the Group Two Queen Mary Stakes.

The two-year-old was an excellent winner on debut at the start of the month, quickly putting two lengths between herself and Secret Oath.

Burke has a 20% strike-rate with his juveniles, and the trends indicate that ten of the last 12 winners of the Queen Mary have won on their latest start before lining up at Ascot.

15:05 - Ascot - Queen’s Vase (Group Two) - Carmers

The second race at Royal Ascot on day two comes in the form of the Queen's Vase. Carmers could be an interesting play against the favourite after winning impressively on both starts under rules.

Listed winner last time out, and he could yet be open to further improvement for a thriving yard.

15:40 - Ascot - Duke of Cambridge Stakes (Group Two) - Cinderella’s Dream

Cinderella’s Dream has been a globe-trotting sensation for the Charlie Appleby team, and she made a winning return to British shores when emphatically beating Elmalka by over four lengths in the Group Two Dahlia Stakes.

Back in trip today, which shouldn’t cause too many issues after winning over a mile previously. William Buick is aboard, with the jockey winning this race on three occasions since 2012.

16:20 - Ascot - Prince of Wales’s Stakes (Group One) - Los Angeles

Aidan O’Brien has trained the winner of the Group One Prince of Wales’s Stakes in two of the last four years, and he could hold the most logical winner once again in 2025.

Los Angeles has already scored gritty wins over White Birch and Anmaat this season, and the form could be confirmed on Wednesday. The four-year-old isn’t the flashiest of runners, but he knows where to be to get his nose in front.

Comes out on top based on ratings, and he could avenge his defeat in last season’s Group One Champion Stakes, which arguably came too soon after his third in the Group One Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe.

17:00 - Ascot - Royal Hunt Cup - My Cloud

Eight of the last eleven winners of the Royal Hunt Cup have previously appeared at Ascot, which bodes well for the previous course and distance winner My Cloud.

The four-year-old has made an electric start to the 2025 season, winning emphatically over a mile at Ascot in April, before following up over the same trip at Newbury last month.

The Roger Varian yard has been among the winners over the last two weeks, and My Cloud is yet to finish outside the first two in five career starts. Could yet be better than his current mark.

17:35 - Ascot - Kensington Palace Stakes - Kayhana

Gavin Cromwell could have an excellent chance in the Kensington Palace Stakes on Day Two at Royal Ascot.

Kayhana has shown potential throughout her career, and has won once from 12 career starts. She was narrowly denied at Gowran Park on her first start for the yard when touched off by Gotomylovely.

Thrives on good ground, and she is handicapped to make her presence felt for a respected yard today.

18:10 - Ascot - Windsor Castle Stakes - Old Is Gold

The red-hot Andrew Balding team could have a lively chance in the Windsor Castle Stakes, which is the concluding contest on day two.

Old Is Gold was narrowly beaten by Military Code on debut, but he likely exerted too much energy in the opening exchanges. He went one better on his following start when seeing off the highly regarded Naval Light by just over a length.

Likely to go very well back at Ascot today, and chances are enhanced with James Doyle back in the saddle.
