Saturday ITV Racing Tips - 11th October 2025

13:15 - Newmarket - Gladius

ITV’s coverage on Saturday kicks off with the Group Three Too Darn Hot Darley Stakes. Gladius could be a fascinating angle for the Andrew Balding and Oisin Murphy combination.

The lightly-raced three-year-old has won twice from four starts on the turf, and was far from disgraced last time when just under two lengths behind King Of Cities in the Group Three Strensall Stakes despite likely finding the ground too quick.

A return to winning form could follow for the in-form team this weekend.

13:30 - York - Flowerhead

Flowerhead looks a potentially smart filly for the Charlie Clover yard in the Listed Rockingham Stakes at York.

The two-year-old wasn’t suited by soft ground last time, meaning a line can be drawn through that effort.

Prior to that, she was a very close third behind Hollywood Treasure St Hugh’s Stakes at Newbury. Based on that effort, six furlongs should suit now getting her ideal ground conditions.

13:50 - Newmarket - Look To The Stars

Charlie Appleby and William Buick team up with Look To The Stars in the Group Three Zetland Stakes.

The two-year-old was a commanding winner against Tierra Del Toro over a mile at Newbury last month, landing success with plenty in hand.

He should be suited by this step up to a mile and two, and his figures rank him as hugely progressive. Respected for top course trainer.

14:05 - York - Per Contra

Plenty have leading claims in a big-field handicap at 14:05 from York. However, Per Contra could still have improvement on the agenda for trainer Tim Easterby.

The four-year-old was an impressive winner on the all-weather last time out, beating Crack Shot by over two lengths. A return to York should suit his chances after being narrowly beaten over course and distance in August.

A similar effort should see him go close.

14:25 - Newmarket - Hankelow

Hankelow could prove to be the value play in the Group Three Autumn Stakes.

Karl Burke has enjoyed huge success with his two-year-old runners this season, and the selection can be forgiven for his recent second in the Flying Scotsman Stakes when far too prominent.

The step up to a mile should suit based on his pedigree, and in-form Clifford Lee is booked to take the ride.

14:40 - York - Laazm

A disappointing field of five line up in the 14:40 at York. Laazm gets plenty of weight from his rivals in this field, and he should present more upside than most now up to a mile.

The son of Mehmas was excellent on debut at Chester in August, beating Moment of Light by just under a length. Regressed slightly when beaten over the same course of distance last time.

However, he could get back on track for the in-form Andrew Balding this weekend.

15:00 - Newmarket - Zavateri

A red-hot renewal of the Group One Dewhurst Stakes is set for Newmarket on Saturday.

Zavateri is a runner that is constantly being overlooked in favour of the flashier types from Coolmore and Godolphin.

However, the two-year-old comes out on top on official ratings for Eve Johnson Houghton, and there was no fluke about his win in the Group One Vincent O’Brien National Stakes last month.

Has improved with every showing to this point, and no reason to suggest that will end this weekend.

15:15 - York - Binhareer

William Haggas and Tom Marquand join forces with Binhareer in a competitive sprint over six furlongs from York on Saturday.

The three-year-old has been competitive since his return, particularly catching the eye over six furlongs the last three times.

He wasn’t beaten far when sixth in the Silver Cup Handicap last time, despite getting away slowly and making up tons of ground in the final stages.

15:40 - Newmarket - Reverend Hubert

The big betting race of the day on Saturday comes in the form of the Casarewitch Handicap.

Plenty have chances, but Reverend Hubert could be a fascinating runner for Charles Byrnes. In-form Silvestre De Sousa has been booked to take the ride on the seven-year-old, who was an impressive winner over course and distance last month when beating Chutzpal by eight lengths.

Has won on three from 14 starts on the flag, and has remained in excellent form throughout the summer, which included a win over hurdles at Kilbeggan in August. Plenty to like about his chances off a light weight.
