ITV’s coverage kicks off earlier on Saturday due to the FA Cup. An interesting Group Three over a mile and four has attracted a competitive field, but the progressive King’s Gambit could be worth chancing for trainer Harry Charlton.
The four-year-old was last seen finishing fourth in Group Three company overseas, but he should relish being back on UK turf. He already has winning form to his name at Newbury after landing the London Gold Cup Handicap last May, while he progressed into an excellent contender at the highest level last season, including when third in the Group One St Leger.
Conditions went against him in the Group One Champion Stakes, but back on firmer ground, he could be hard to beat on Saturday.
