Saturday ITV Racing Tips - 30th August 2025

13:30 - Beverley - Crown Of Oaks

ITV’s coverage on Saturday gets underway at Beverley. Crown Of Oaks looks challenging to oppose in the Silver Cup Handicap, and he looks good value to follow up after an impressive win over a mile and two at Ayr last month.

That was an excellent performance on his first start after being gelded, and there still looks like there is more to come for the in-form William Haggas yard.

13:50 - Sandown - Headmaster

Sandown’s card on Saturday kicks off with a competitive handicap over seven furlongs. It would be best to forgive Headmaster for his below-par showing last time, as he didn’t seem to enjoy the softer ground when last of 16 at Goodwood.

Prior to that run, he had held his own in high-class company, which included a victory over seven furlongs at Haydock. Tom Marquand makes the trip to Sandown to take the ride on the Haggan-trained runner.

14:05 - Beverley - Kerdos

Kerdos could have leading claims in the Bullet Sprint Stakes on Saturday.

The five-year-old is a previous winner over course and distance, and he should relish the drop in grade after finishing 13th in the Group One Nunthorpe Stakes last week.

The Clive Cox runner has been consistent over the five furlongs at lesser levels, including when not beaten far in the Group Three Coral Charge in July. Goes well at Beverley, and is unlikely to be far away on his peak form.

14:25 - Sandown - Skellet

An interesting Group Three Atalanta Stakes is due off at 14:25. Plenty have leading claims, but an each-way chance could be taken on Skellet.

The Ralph Beckett runner was too keen when a well-beaten favourite in the Group Three Princess Elizabeth Stakes at Epsom in June. However, she boasted excellent form before that defeat, including a win over course and distance in the Fortune Stakes last year.

Held her form well throughout last season, and wasn’t disgraced in a pair of Group Ones behind Fallen Angel (Irish 1000 Guineas) and Porta Fortuna (Coronation Stakes). Back from a break this weekend, and she goes well fresh. Hector Crouch is back aboard.

14:40 - Chester - Minella Rescue

Chester joins the ITV party at 14:40, and Minella Rescue could hold interesting claims in the Chester Stakes. The seven-year-old will be making his first start on the flat after a productive calendar year over jumps for Gary Hanmer.

He was second in the Group One Sefton Novices’ Hurdle in April, and has since won over an extended two mile and seven at Uttoxeter. Drops significantly in trip for his first start on the flat, but that shouldn’t present many questions after twice winning in bumpers over two miles in 2023.

Has been in career-best form, and each-way claims at a big price.

15:00 - Sandown - Dangerman

Dangerman should take a lot of beating in the handicap from Sandown at 15:00.

The John & Thady Gosden runner has won impressively on his last two starts over course and distance, beating Desert Shadow most recently by a commanding four lengths. He has been progressing at a rapid rate for the yard, and in-form Kieran O’Neill is booked to take the ride this weekend.

Hopes are high regarding his chances, and he remains in contention for the Cambridgeshire at Newmarket next month.

15:15 - Chester - El Burhan

George Boughey-trained El Burhan could be an interesting chance in the 15:15 at Chester.

The three-year-old was excellent over course and distance in May, holding off God Of War to win by a neck. Failed to make the step up in trip last time when well beaten over a mile and two at Royal Ascot.

Back in calmer waters this weekend, and a return to seven furlongs should make him the one to beat. In-form Harry Davies takes the ride.

15:35 - Sandown - Publish

The feature on Saturday comes in the form of the Group Three Solario Stakes.

Publish should be very difficult to beat for the John & Thady Gosden team, with Colin Keane booked to take the ride. The two-year-old held off Catullus to land victory over course and distance last month, with the front two pulling well clear of the field.

That form has since been boosted, with Catullus winning by a dominant seven-length margin at York a few weeks ago. Yard is in excellent form, and hard to knock his chances.
