Saturday ITV Racing Tips - 5th July 2025

13:50 - Sandown - Kerdos

Kerdos could kick Saturday’s ITV coverage off with a winner for the in-form Clive Cox yard.

The five-year-old looked back to his very best last time out when beaten just two lengths when fifth in the Group One King Charles III Stakes at Royal Ascot.

Five furlongs is his trip, and he has very strong claims on his best form last season, which included a victory over the minimum trip at Haydock in the Group Two Temple Stakes.

14:05 - Haydock - Ammes

ITV’s coverage also includes races from Haydock on Saturday, and a competitive handicap over a mile and six gets underway at 14:05.

It could be worth giving Ammes another go after a decent enough sixth of 19 at a big price at Royal Ascot last month.

James Owen’s yard is in excellent recent form, and the selection already has winning distance over a stamina-sapping distance after landing a victory at Chepstow in May.

14:25 - Sandown - Greek Order

Ryan Moore is a notable booking in the Coral Challenge, as he takes the ride on Greek Order for trainer Michael Bell.

The five-year-old was a regular runner at the highest level in the U.S. last season, and was an eye-catching fourth on his British debut at Royal Ascot last month.

The selection was beaten just over a length by My Cloud in the Hunt Cup, and a 2lb rise isn’t likely to halt his chances on Saturday.

14:40 - Haydock - Estrange

A very disappointing field of four goes to post for the Group Two Lancashire Oaks at Haydock on Saturday.

It is incredibly challenging to overlook the top-rated runner in the field- Estrange. Daniel Tudhope will be aboard the David O’Meara runner, who was last seen returning to action with a dominant four-length success over Shaha in the Group Three Lester Piggott Fillies’ Stakes over course and distance.

All her rivals will need to improve to threaten an upset, and that appears unlikely.

15:00 - Sandown - Miss Tonnerre

Ed Walker-trained Miss Tonnerre could be an interesting angle in the Listed Coral Distaff. The three-year-old didn’t appear to stay on her seasonal return at York when beaten 14 lengths by Whirl in the Group Three Musidora Stakes.

She is entitled to come on for that run, and she boasts leading claims now back down to a mile based on her juvenile form, which included a narrow defeat to Desert Flower in the Group Two May Hill Stakes. Having Kieran Shoemark aboard is no negative.

15:15 - Haydock - My Dream World

It could be worth taking a chance on My Dream World in the Old Newton Cup Handicap at Haydock on Saturday.

The four-year-old was a winner over course and distance last summer when beating Make Aclaim by just under two lengths. Was fifth on his return to action after being gelded at Ascot, before being disqualified after passing the line first at York last month due to whip misuse. Is more than capable of making amends for that on these terms.

15:35 - Sandown - Sosie

The feature on Saturday is the Group One Coral-Eclipse, and a fascinating clash of generations is set.

However, the party could be ruined by French raider Sosie for Andre Fabre. The four-year-old is a three-time Group One winner, including on his latest start when getting the job done over an inadequate distance in the Group One Prix d’Ispahan.

Will relish this step back up to a mile and two, and has form lines that mix in with some of the best over the last two seasons. A first British start raises concerns, while ground conditions are also a worry. However, based on progeny, the latter shouldn’t prove to be an issue.
