Sunday ITV Racing Tips - 10th August 2025

15:45 - Haydock - Penelope's Sister

Jim Goldie sends Pelelope's Sister to Haydock for the opening race on ITV4's coverage.

The five-year-old mare has run creditably throughout the season, including when second behind Boy Douglas over a mile at Ayr last time out.

She should have few issues on this step back up in trip after a close third behind Say What You See at Ayr at the start of last month. Solid chance.

16:00 - Leicester - Half Sovereign

Half Sovereign looks like a solid chance in one of the three races covered on ITV from Leicester.

Karl Burke's yard is in red-hot form, and the two-year-old has won two of her three career starts.

She has been excellent since stepping up to seven furlongs, and was last seen winning over the trip at York last month. Has little to find on official ratings.

16:15 - Haydock - Better And Better

Better And Better gets weight from his market rivals this weekend at Haydock, and that could make all the difference for the Adrian Paul Keatley-trained runner.

Better And Better has winning experience over six furlongs after landing a maiden success at Hamilton in June.

Since then, he has held his own in competitive races, including a third at Ascot behind Sayidah Hard Spun last month. Weighted to go close.

16:30 - Leicester - Hilltop

Hilltop could be the leading chance for the in-form Daniel & Claire Kubler yard in the 16:30 at Leicester.

The four-year-old returned from a short break with a strong showing over seven furlongs at Lingfield, getting the better of Serenity Dream.

Looks like a runner that should improve now up to a mile, and she will get her ground conditions on Sunday.

16:45 - Haydock - Pretty Danielle

A competitive Maiden Stakes will feature a number of interesting newcomers. However, it could be worth siding with a contender with a run under their belt.

Pretty Danielle gets weight from her rivals this weekend, and things finally looked to click on her latest start when third of 12, and just under a length behind Come On Eibhlin.

Expected to kick on following that effort, and Donagh Murphy is booked to take the ride.

17:00 - Leicester - American Style

Kevin Ryan-trained American Style has been unlucky in defeat throughout this season, finishing second on three of his last four starts.

However, his latest second at Newmarket when beaten by Prince of India registered a lofty RPR.

He will be very hard to beat at Leicester this weekend if he performs at the same standard once again.

17:15 - Haydock - Secret Mistral

Tony Carroll's yard is ticking along nicely, and they should have a strong chance with Secret Mistral in the 17:15.

The mare ran a strong race behind Aces Wild at Chester over five furlongs last time out, but she typically saves her best performances for Haydock.

She was a winner over course and distance in May, and also ran a fine second behind Fortunate Star at the start of last month. Will go close.

17:45 - Haydock - Bint Mohaather

Bint Mohaather could be a fascinating contender for the Jack Channon yard in the 17:45.

The lightly raced three-year-old won on her return to action over seven furlongs at Wolverhampton, before struggling when dropped back to six furlongs at Doncaster last time out.

The return to seven furlongs boosts her chances, and she is weighted to play a leading role with Clifford Lee booked to take the ride.

18:15 - Haydock - Wolfpack

The lightly raced Wolfback will take up his engagement at Haydock on Sunday, despite originally being declared at Newmarket on Saturday.

The three-year-old for James Ferguson has won once from three career starts, with his win coming at Thirsk on his first start over a mile.

Has been gelded since that win, and he looks dangerous now dropped into handicap company.

18:45 - Haydock - String Of Pearls

Sir Mark Prescott sends a runner to Haydock for the finale on Sunday.

String Of Peals looks like a red-hot contender based on her performances this season, winning on each of her last two starts. The latest of those came over a mile and six at York when getting the better of Carlton.

Steps up to two miles for the first time on Sunday, and she looks a very smart staying prospect. In-form Dylan Hogan takes the ride.
