Glorious Goodwood ITV Racing Tips - 31st July 2025

13:20 - Goodwood - Fort George

The ITV coverage kicks off with a competitive handicap over a mile and two furlongs on Thursday.

Fort George could be worth chancing for the Ed Walker stable, with Kieran Shoemark booked to take the ride. He was a solid second over a mile at Goodwood on his latest start, but stayed on strongly when denied by only a neck.

This step up in trip could be exactly what is needed, and his current mark is lenient considering his progressive profile.

13:55 - Goodwood - Havana Hurricane

Eve Johnson Houghton has already been among the winners at Glorious Goodwood this week, and she could score again in the Group Two Richmond Stakes.

Havana Hurricane was excellent over five furlongs when winning the Windsor Castle Stakes at Royal Ascot last month, and finished as though the step up to six furlongs would suit when a short head behind Anthelia in the Super Sprint at Newbury on July 19.

Demands respect now back up to six furlongs, especially considering the red-hot form of the stable.

14:30 - Goodwood - Galveston

Aidan O’Brien landed success in the Group Three Gordon Stakes last year, and the trainer holds excellent claims to repeat that feat on Thursday.

Galveston was aggressively ridden in the Group Two King Edward VII Stakes at Royal Ascot last month, but still managed to finish a decent enough second.

His form has been strong since blinkers have been applied; he also won over an extended mile and two at Naas.

A change in tactics by Ryan Moore could bring out further improvement, and he is hard to knock based on ratings.

15:05 - Goodwood - See The Fire

See The Fire concedes weight to the three-year-olds in the Group One Nassau Stakes, but it could be worth siding with the talented filly for Andrew Balding.

She went close in the race 12 months ago when touched off by a neck by Opera Singer, but has appeared better than ever this term.

Was a staggering 12-length winner of the Group Two Middleton Fillies’ Stakes in May, before finishing an excellent third behind Ombudsman in the Group One Prince of Wales’s Stakes. Oisin Murphy retains the ride once again on the top-rated runner.

15:45 - Goodwood - Getreadytorumble

ITV’s coverage from Goodwood concludes with a very tricky handicap over five furlongs. Getreadytorumble ticks plenty of boxes for the Jack Channon team, as the lightly-raced three-year-old already has winning form over course and distance to his name.

The gelding was last in action finishing a close second behind Kassaya over five furlongs at Sandown, but the manner of his win at Goodwood in June, when beating Kinetic Force by two lengths, gives him clear claims on Thursday.

Racing League Wolverhampton ITV Racing Tips - 31st July 2025

17:45 - Wolverhampton - Scarboroughwarning

The ITV action resumes with the second week of the Racing League on ITV4 at 17:30, and the card at Wolverhampton gets underway with a handicap over six furlongs.

Scarboroughwarning makes plenty of appeal for the Sir Mark Prescott yard, having won over course and distance last year. Was third at Wolves in June, and the yard has been in excellent form over the last two weeks. Likely to go close.

18:15 - Wolverhampton - Dark Ace

Dark Ace could be on a tempting mark in the 18:15 for trainer Adrian McGuinness.

The three-year-old has come up short in hot handicaps already this season, but appeared to be crying out for further when fourth of eleven over five furlongs at Dundalk in mid-July.

Unproven on the Tapeta, but the Irish raider is on a good mark and should enjoy this stiff track.

18:45 - Wolverhampton - Londonofficecallin

Gavin Cromwell sends Londonofficecallin to Wolverhampton on Thursday, and Finley Marsh is booked to take the ride.

The eight-year-old was an eye-catching winner on his return last month, quickly putting five lengths between himself and Not Just Any Eagle at Fairyhouse.

He has been in strong form on the flat and over hurdles throughout the season, and this step up to a mile and six should suit his chances.

19:15 - Wolverhampton - Barbapapa

Barbapapa represents the Henry De Bromhead stable in the 19:15 at Wolves on Thursday, and he should have leading claims if handling the sharp six furlongs.

Ran to form on his latest start when beaten just two lengths in a 19-runner handicap at Cork.

Is proven on the Tapeta surface, having won twice from nine starts on the all-weather.

19:45 - Wolverhampton - Hock Eye The Noo

Charlie Johnston-trained Hock Eye The Noo could be on an interesting mark in the 19:45 at Wolves.

The three-year-old filly was well beaten when having a wide trip at Lingfield last time out, and has run below her best on two further starts this year.

However, she could be a major player if she gets back to the level that saw her win over course and distance at the start of March. Worth an each-way chance at a big price.

20:15 - Wolverhampton - Hickory

Hickory is the runner for the in-form Jamie Osbourne yard in the 20:15 at Wolves on Thursday, with William Carver picking up the ride.

The seven-year-old was an excellent winner over seven furlongs at Ascot in May, and looked back to that level over a mile last weekend when beaten just under a length by Fearnot.

Stepped up further today, but that should suit based on pedigree. Has form on the Tapeta, and plenty in his favour.

20:45 - Wolverhampton - Bint Al Daar

Bint Al Daar is the runner for Kevin Frost in the finale on ITV this Thursday.

The five-year-old mare will be making her stable debut after finishing a respectable fifth of eleven over a mile and three at Southwell in mid-July.

She looks to perform best on the all-weather these days, and should be capable of playing a part based on her win over course and distance last August.
