            Doncaster ended last season in great form as they won ten of their last 11 games but just fell short in the Play-offs. On the other hand, Accrington Stanley have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last 12 games against Doncaster Rovers.

            After a season that saw them clinch Play-off football, Doncaster will be looking for a big win over an Accrington Stanley side that finished in the bottom half of the table last season.

            Doncaster finished fifth in League Two last season. In 46 games, Doncaster picked up 21 wins, eight draws and 17 losses which left them on 72 points, 15 points from automatic promotion and just two points within the Play-offs.

            Doncaster and Accrington Stanley have met 15 times in their histories with the first meeting coming as recently as 2006. Accrington Stanley have the better record in the fixture with seven wins in comparison to Doncaster’s four wins, with the other four games ending in a draw.

            In their last five preseason games Doncaster have three wins, one draw and one loss.

            The trip to Darlington saw a goalless first half for both the hosts and Doncaster. The only goal of the game was an own goal from Ben Hedley just five minutes into the second half that gave Doncaster the 1 - 0 win.

            The next time out saw Doncaster on the road again to face Spennymoor Town. Jordan Gibson opened the scoring in the 16th minute and Hurst doubled the lead before halftime. Neither side could find another goal in the second half as the game finished in a 2 - 0 win for Doncaster.

            Hurst was on the scoresheet again for Doncaster against Hull and Joe Ironside grabbed a goal before halftime to give Doncaster the 2 - 0 lead. Owen Bailey popped up with a four minute brace in the second half to give Doncaster the 4 - 0 win over Hull.

            Doncaster once again took the lead into halftime thanks to a goal from Molyneux. Both Sharp and Ironside got on the scoresheet in the second half, with Sharp converting his penalty, however, it wasn’t enough as goals from Riley McGree, Hayden Hacknet, Finn Azaz, Emmanuel Latte Lath and Sonny Finch gave Middlesbrough the 5 - 3 win.

            The last time out for Doncaster was against Rotherham. Neither side could find the back of the net and the game finished in a 0 - 0 draw.

However, in the second half, both Javaun Splatt and Joel Louis Booth found the back of the net to give Clitheroe the 3 - 1 win over Accrington.

            The most recent outing for Accrington Stanley was against Lancaster City. Walton opened the scoring for Accrington in the 13th minute but a trialist equalised for Lancaster before halftime. Dominic Lawson scored in the second half to give Lancaster the 2 - 1 win.
