Stockport County’s Paddy Madden is the bookmakers’ favourite to win the League Two Golden Boot.
The 32-year-old Irishman managed to score 23 goals in 43 National League matches for County last season and interestingly, hasn’t played a League Two match since the 2013/14 season with Scunthorpe United having made the drop from League One side Fleetwood Town to Stockport in March 2021.
Having scored 15 goals in back-to-back League One seasons for Fleetwood Town (2018/19 & 2019/20) before his move to Edgeley Park, surely Madden will carry on his excellent goalscoring form for his current side this season.
Dave Challinor and Paddy Madden have been named as National League Manager and Player of the Year respectively by the Non League Paper, at their National Game Awards.
