Next Swansea City Manager Odds

Swansea City are looking for a new manager, following the dismissal of Alan Sheehan after the Irishman had signed a three-year deal to become permanent manager at the Swansea.com Stadium.

The 39-year-old had been an assistant under two previous managers of Swansea City, Luke Williams and Michael Duff. Following the dismissals of both Williams and Duff, respectively, Sheehan impressed in a caretaker capacity at the club, which led to his permanent appointment in April earlier this year.

Sheehan leaves the Jacks in 18th place in the Championship, with the 4-1 defeat at home to Ipswich Town being the final nail in the coffin for the 39-year-old.

While Swansea City search for their new manager, we have compiled the latest managerial odds and our prediction for the next man at the helm at the Swansea.com Stadium.

These latest odds are available from William Hill.

Latest Odds

Kim Hellberg - 8/15

Brendan Rodgers - 5/2

Michael Carrick - 16/1

Russell Martin - 16/1

Gary O'Neil - 18/1

Liam Manning - 20/1

Robbie Keane - 20/1

William Still - 25/1

Kim Hellberg - 8/15

The favourite for the managerial vacancy at Swansea sees the club possibly venturing into the depths of Scandinavia, as the current frontrunner is Hammarby IF manager Kim Hellberg.

The 37-year-old has been the manager of Hammarby IF since December 2023 and has obtained a credible win percentage of 56% from 73 matches, winning 41, drawing 15 and losing 17. Hellberg is a relatively young manager compared to some of his counterparts, should he join Swansea City, and has yet to win anything of note as a manager. However, Hellberg has just completed a season with Hammarby IF, during which the side achieved UEFA Europa Conference League qualification by finishing second in the Allsvenskan.

Latest Odds: Kim Hellberg - 8/15

Brendan Rodgers - 5/2

Everyone loves a fairytale return, and for Swansea fans, the dream return of Brendan Rodgers is certainly one that could be on the cards, considering his early price according to the markets. Priced at 5/2, Rodgers has been tipped for a sensational return to the club he departed in 2012.

Rodgers joined the club in July 2010, after rejecting an offer to join Roberto Mancini at Manchester City. His two-year spell at the club arguably produced one of the best eras in the club's history, as the Northern Irishman guided the Swans to the promised land of the Premier League in his debut season, following a 4-2 win in the playoff final against Reading.

The 52-year-old would then join Liverpool in the summer of 2012 and would almost guide Liverpool to a Premier League title in 2013/14. The spell at Liverpool ended on a sour note thanks to a disastrous start to the following campaign.

Rodgers is probably best remembered for his dominance of Scottish football, where he won the domestic treble in consecutive seasons, before leading Leicester City to an FA Cup triumph.

Rodgers is available following his resignation from Celtic.

Latest Odds: Brendan Rodgers - 5/2

Michael Carrick - 16/1

An interesting name who has Championship experience is former Middlesbrough manager Michael Carrick. The Manchester United legend is well-suited to adapt to the situation at Swansea, considering his valuable experience within the game.

Carrick's first venture into full-time management was as an interim manager of Manchester United following the dismissal of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Carrick guided United to two wins and a draw in his three matches in charge, which also saw United qualify for the UEFA Champions League Round of 16, thanks to a 2-0 win against Villarreal.

The 44-year-old was then appointed as Middlesbrough manager, and Carrick won 16 of his first 23 matches as manager. The early-season form guided Middlesbrough to the playoff semi-finals, where Coventry City beat them. The second season under Carrick saw the Teeside club reach the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup, as they beat Chelsea (1-0) in the first leg, but unfortunately were no match for the Blues in the second leg as they were beaten 6-1 at Stamford Bridge.

On 4 June 2025, Carrick was sacked by Middlesbrough following a tenth-placed finish.

Latest Odds: Michael Carrick - 16/1

Robbie Keane - 20/1

Robbie Keane has served as a manager in some capacity for three clubs during his coaching career. ATK (India), Maccabi Tel-Aviv (Israel) & Ferencvaros (Hungary).

Despite having a limited managerial career thus far, Robbie Keane has garnered a reputation for having sides play entertaining football, which has helped amass a brilliant win percentage for the former Premier League striker. Keane has a win percentage of 61%, having only lost seven of his 49 matches as the manager of the current Hungarian National Championships.

Keane has won the following honours as manager:

  • Israeli Premier League
  • Israeli TOTO Cup.
  • Nemzeti Bajnokság (National Championship)

Latest Odds: Robbie Keane - 20/1

Our Prediction

Our prediction is Kim Hellberg.

While Brendan Rodgers would embody the romance in football, Rodgers would likely be in demand for a more high-profile job later down the line. Hellberg was previously linked to the Swansea.com Stadium, and it would follow the same train of thought as when the Jacks appointed Graham Potter.
