Sadio Mane was arguably the best player in the Liverpool lineup for much of this record-breaking season where Jurgen Klopp's side strolled to the Premier League title. The Senegal international was certainly the more productive of the forward players within the first few months, until Mohamed Salah turned up the heat in the home stretch of the campaign.
Just three goals across all competitions separated the two superstars up top, with Mane netting 20 and Salah scoring 23. At the same time, just the one Premier League goal was the difference, as the Egyptian ended the season with 19 goals, whilst his colleague bagged 18 just a year after the two men shared the Golden Boot.
In that year, both netted 20 goals as the Premier League witnessed its first three-way split of the award, along with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. Now, with odds of 14/1, it would be silly to brush over Mane so easily, especially given how he has already won the Golden Boot, is perhaps reaching his peak years at 28, and how Liverpool could just end up walking towards another title.
For peace of mind, Salah Golden Boot odds are 9/2, whilst to have Liverpool win the league and their main man claim the top scorer is priced at 10/1.
