Antonio Rudiger Transfer News & Odds

Rudiger, Chelsea
Grace

Juventus Odds: 3/1

With Juventus captain and defensive mainstay Giorgio Chiellini looking ever more likely to swap his native Italy for the MLS in America, the addition of Antonio Rudiger could be a more than adequate replacement.

The 29-year-old has enough experience in the Bundesliga, Premier League and Serie A as well as European football in order to fit well into a Juventus team looking to go for the Serie A title next season.

If the German were to make the move to Northern Italy, he’d most likely pair up with Matthijs de Ligt. The 22-year-old made the move to Juventus in 2019 after Ajax’s long run to the Champions League Semi-Finals grabbed the attention of many of Europe’s biggest clubs.

Despite now having a couple of years in Italy under his belt, a potential partnership with Rudiger could give Juventus a stable defensive partnership for the coming years.

Real Madrid Odds: 3/1

Though reports said that Real Madrid had stepped away from the race to sign Rudiger, his heroic performance in the second leg of the Champions League Quarter Final between Chelsea and Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu may have changed their minds once again.

Real Madrid already have a particularly sturdy centre-back partnership of Eder Militao and David Alaba who have played 30 and 29 games respectively in La Liga this season. Ancelotti’s side are in a good position to win La Liga yet again and are amongst the last four of the Champions League with this defensive pairing.

Militao and Alaba have also conceded only 28 goals in the league this season, second only to Sevilla who have conceded 25. With Rudiger potentially entering an already solid backline, he can offer more of an offensive quality, with the German showing at Chelsea his habit of straying forward and trying his chances as a forward.

Rudiger is priced at 3/1 to join Real.

Manchester United Odds: 4/1

The imminent arrival of Erik ten Hag at Manchester United perhaps signals a busy summer transfer window for United, with Premier League proven Antonio Rudiger allegedly on their wishlist.

The Red Devils have struggled defensively this season, playing with the partnership of either Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof or summer signing Raphael Varane, who has had some issues with injuries in his first season in England. United ranks 11th in the number of clean sheets this season with only seven and have conceded 44 goals this campaign - an average of 1.38 per game.

Rudiger, despite playing in a different system and with an equally experienced backline, has significantly better statistics for the season. With 14 clean sheets and only 23 goals conceded (an average of 0.77 goals per game), it’s no doubt Rudiger would be a big defensive upgrade for United.

Rudiger is priced at 4/1 to trade Stamford Bridge for Old Trafford.

PSG Odds: 5/1

PSG once again ran away at the top of Ligue 1, with 74 points and a 15 point gap with only six games to go. However, the real object of their affections, the Champions League alluded them yet again this season, crashing out in the Round of 16 to a strong Real Madrid team.

The Parisian team deployed a 4-3-3 formation for the majority of the season, with the pairing of Marquinhos and Presnel Kimpembe playing 25 and 26 games in the league. This backline has been impressive in the French League, only conceding 30 goals, they rank second for this in Ligue 1, behind Nice with 28 goals conceded. PSG also have ten clean sheets and concede an average of 0.94 goals per match.

Antonio Rudiger has shown his class in European competitions. Since signing for Chelsea in 2017, the German has won the Europa League, Champions League, Super Cup and Club World Cup, something PSG and their fans are striving for.

PSG are priced at 5/1 to acquire Rudiger in the summer transfer window.
