Armando Broja Transfer News & Odds

Armando Broja looks set to leave Chelsea as the Blues look to raise funds to make improvements to their squad under the management of Thomas Tuchel.

The Albania international showed promising signs during his loan spell at Southampton last season, as he managed to score nine goals and create one assist in 38 matches across all competitions for the Saints in what was his first full season in English football, having made just one appearance for Chelsea.

Previously, the 20-year-old had been sent on loan to Dutch Eredivisie outfit Vitesse Arnhem in 2020/21 where he bagged 11 goals and created three assist in 34 matches.

Everton Odds: 6/4

Everton could be looking toward Chelsea striker Armando Broja to solve their attacking woes and help them keep their distance from the relegation scrap The Toffees found themselves in at the tail end of last season.

Following the loss of Richarlison in the summer, Everton are in need of a big striker to fill that void, and with Broja’s late appearance at Goodison Park on the opening weekend, manager Frank Lampard and fans would’ve gotten a good look at a potential replacement.

With one campaign of Premier League football and a season with Vitesse in the Eredivisie, Broja has some valuable experience at only 20 years old. Richarlison, who was the Toffees' top scorer last season, scored just ten in the Premier League in his fourth year in the league, whereas Broja scored six in his debut season.

This suggests that with adequate service Broja could be a solid Premier League striker in years to come, making him a more than logical signing for Frank Lampard’s side.

Newcastle United Odds: 11/4

Despite their wealthy new owners, Newcastle haven’t invested too much into their attack this summer transfer window, mainly focusing on the backline with signings such as Nick Pope and Sven Botman.

Callum Wilson was The Magpies’ top scorer in the Premier League in the 2021/22 season with eight, whilst Allan Saint-Maximin and January signing Bruno Guimaraes came in second with five goals each. This would put Broja’s six-goal tally for Southampton in second place.

Though six goals from 32 appearances may be a somewhat disappointing return for a striker, it’s not too bad in his debut season with a team not renowned for being prolific in front of goal - only 43 last season.

With more experience in the Premier League, the Albanian could prove to be the clinical striker he was at the youth level, where Broja once scored five and registered four assists in only four appearances. Overall, Broja would be a more than solid and a likely choice for Eddie Howe and Newcastle this season.

Newcastle are priced at 11/4 to acquire Broja for the 2022/23 season.

Southampton Odds: 12/1

Southampton look both likely to and eager to have Broja back in their squad for the 2022/23 season, despite the Albanian making an appearance in Chelsea’s opening game of the season at Everton.

The Albanian made 32 appearances for The Saints in the Premier League, scoring six goals and being their second top scorer behind James Ward-Prowse on ten. Broja also made four appearances in the FA Cup, scoring once and two appearances in the League Cup where he scored twice.

Southampton finished 15th in the 2021/22 season, and without Broja, Ralph Hassenhuttl would be forced to solely rely on Che Adams for the bulk of Southampton’s goals. If The Saints want to move further up the table and put a solid cushion between themselves and any type of relegation scrap, signing Broja for at least another season would be a logical way to do it.

Overall, considering the relationship Broja and Southampton now have, a move back there for the Albanian would make sense.

Broja is priced at 12/1 to return to Southampton.
