Ferran Torres Transfer News & Odds

After a disappointing World Cup with Spain that saw La Roja exit at the Round of 16 stage, Ferran Torres, who scored two goals in three games, seems to be back on the market this January. Life at Barcelona has been slightly underwhelming for Torres, with only two goals in 14 games so far this season.

Arsenal Odds: 5/1

Despite sitting at the top of the Premier League, Mikel Arteta’s side are still looking to strengthen where they can this January transfer window. With Gabriel Jesus and Emile Smith-Rowe still injured, a move for Torres could be a good boost for the Arsenal front line.

Torres has some experience in the Premier League despite being only 22 years old, playing under Pep Guardiola at Manchester City from 2020 to 2022. During this time the Spaniard scored nine goals in 28 appearances.

Arteta is a clear fan of Torres, as he tried to bring him to the Emirates during the summer of his move to Barcelona after working with the youngster while both at Man City. With Barcelona unhappy with their investment in Torres, a swoop for the Spaniard for Arsenal may be more likely than ever.

AC Milan Odds: 10/1

With Torres getting further and further away from Xavi’s starting XI at Barcelona, a move to Italy may be an option for the youngster and a potentially affordable one for Milan.

AC Milan currently sit second in Serie A, eight points behind league-leaders Napoli. In order to push for back-to-back Serie A wins, the addition of Torres to the Rossoneri roster may give them the extra push to close the gap to Napoli.

Though Torres has never played in Italy, he does have both European and international experience which may make a possible transition easier. In the 2020/21 Champions League campaign with Man City, Torres scored four goals in six appearances and at the 2020 (2021) Euros, he scored two goals in six games for Spain.

AC Milan are priced at 10/1 to acquire Torres from Barcelona.

Tottenham Odds: 16/1

Another Premier League team reportedly interested in Torres is Antonio Conte’s Tottenham. With the manager recently stating that fifth may be the best Spurs fans can expect from this season, the addition of Torres may be able to disprove the Italian.

Torres already has experience playing in the Premier League and so may be the answer Conte is looking for, as the Spaniard may not require the same transition period as players from other clubs.

In his tirade after his side’s 2 - 0 loss to Aston Villa, Conte admitted that Tottenham lacks creative players, especially with stand-out players Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur still out with injury. This means that a move for out-of-favour Torres may be a good one to inject some life into the attack.

Tottenham have reportedly readied a bid, making a move even more likely, though the likelihood does also hinge on Spurs being able to meet the price tag given to Torres by Barcelona - a reported £44 million.

Spurs are priced at 16/1 to add Torres to their squad in January.

Bayern Munich Odds: 20/1

A move to the Bundesliga with current league-leaders Bayern Munich may also be on the cards for Torres this January. With Bayern Munich legend Robert Lewandoski leaving the German giants for Barcelona this summer, Julian Nagelsmann may be looking to return the favour with Torres.

The injury to the current holder of the left-wing spot at Bayern, Sadio Mane, that has no projected return may be the opening for Torres to make the move to Germany. Despite Munich being a high-scoring team all-round, with five different players, including Mane, being on nine goals each so far this season, adding another goal-scorer to the mix may strengthen their position in the league and in their Champions League campaign.

Though he hasn’t been particularly prolific at Barcelona, being in a team such as Bayern may reignite the attacking prowess the Spaniard possessed at Valencia and Man City.

Bayern are priced at 20/1 to sign Torres from Barcelona.

Chelsea Odds: 20/1

A nightmare run for Graham Potter and Chelsea has highlighted the issues in the team, one of those being the lack of consistent firepower up front. The action in the January transfer window has already started for Chelsea, with the acquisition of Datro Fofana from Molde.

However, this action shouldn’t make a move back to England and to Chelsea any less likely for Torres. Todd Boehly seems to want to make a big statement with his first season as owner of Chelsea, with The Blues linked to many different names across Europe.

Finding the back of the net has been a difficult task for Chelsea so far this season, with their top scorer being Raheem Sterling with only six goals in 21 games, followed by Havertz on five in 22 games and Mason Mount on three goals in 23 games.

The addition of a somewhat proven Premier League winger may be what Chelsea need, especially when the source of all of their main crossing ability, Reece James and Ben Chilwell are still injured.

Torres is priced at 20/1 to make the switch from the Nou Camp to Stamford Bridge.
