Newcastle United Odds: 6/4

Newcastle United are heading for a very exciting future right now, with the club seeming destined for relegation at the start of the new year, although they have turned it around since with help from the new January signings of Kieran Trippier, Chris Wood, Bruno Guimaraes and Matt Target and now sit in 14th place and nine points above the relegation zone.

Despite the impressive form the magpies have had, they are still struggling for goals and currently have a goal difference of -17. Jesse Lingard could offer something more creative going forward after not getting the chance to display his quality due to his lack of playing time at Manchester United and may allow Newcastle to change the way they attack with a new dynamic attacking midfielder.

An improvement in the midfield in the form of Lingard could be a positive sign for the future of the Magpies as it may lay the foundations for a push next season for the club to reach European football for the first time in a decade; due to the new takeover happening for the Toon Army this season they may be able to splash the cash and take Lingard’s signature when he becomes available on a free transfer at the end of the campaign.

West Ham United Odds: 7/4

Since Lingard left West Ham to return to his parent club Manchester United last May, many have speculated that the attacker may make a permanent move to East London.

After being promised game-time from former Man Utd manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Lingard chose to stay at his boyhood club in the Summer Transfer Window. This season, Lingard has only played 13 games for the Red Devils with those appearances coming to a combined 392 minutes scoring two goals.

These stats are pretty lack-lustre considering he was promised more game time but under the new manager Ralf Rangnick, he has barely touched the pitch. However last campaign at West Ham, Lingard’s loan spell was almost flawless with the attacking midfielder achieving nine goals and four assists in 16 games, and a move back to the Hammers under David Moyes combined with the love from the fans could reinspire Jesse to find that form once again.

Lingard is priced at 7/4 to return to West Ham in the summer transfer window.

Aston Villa Odds: 6/1

Even though Aston Villa were already rather busy during the recent transfer window by securing deals for Philippe Coutinho, Lucas Digne and Robin Olsen, it seems as though there is one player currently in the Premier League that the club are eyeing for a potential swoop that goes by the name of Lingard.

In a recent online Q&A for Birmingham Live, Villa journalist Ashley Preece revealed in one answer that United’s midfielder Lingard is “admired” by the Midlands club. When asked another question if Villa should be looking at making a move to sign the 29-year-old this season, Preece replied: “Philogene-Bidace is now heading to Stoke on loan, and Trezeguet looking to be loaned out, there could be scope, but Newcastle are expected to step up their interest”.

With Aston Villa’s attacking threat being hit and miss under Steven Gerrard the addition of another creative attacker could amount to a sustainable attacking threat from the men playing in claret and blue.

Villa are priced at 6/1 to sign Lingard on a free transfer.

Leicester City Odds: 6/1

Despite Leicester City’s pushes for champions league qualifications in recent seasons, the Foxes have come up short this year with the side being placed 10th after the club being backed to challenge for the top 4 in the Premier League.

Brendan Rodgers’ side have struggled with injuries this season with their regular top goal scorer in 34-year-old Jamie Vardy being out with recurring injuries for multiple weeks at a time, and an addition of another attacker would be useful, as that could supply some goals and assists combined with chances created that may have been lost due to absences.

Lingard also has also played for Leicester in the past on a loan spell back in the 2012-13 season but only appeared five times, however, his connection with the club in the past could play a part in the decision for his next move to better his career.

Lingard is priced at 6/1 to trade Old Trafford for the King Power Stadium.
