After coming agonisingly close to Champions League football next season, largely thanks to a lack of investment in January, Arsenal will certainly try and make the most of the summer transfer window.
The Gunners decided not to sign replacements for the likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Calum Chambers and Ainsley Maitland-Niles who all left in January. While the latter two were not first-team regulars, the depth they offered was key for ensuring Arsenal were not caught short when players were injured etc.
Equally, allowing Aubameyang to leave and not replacing him turned out to be a key factor in their failure to secure Champions League qualification.
With that in mind, Richarlison would very likely come in and play a prominent role on Arsenal’s left wing, as well as providing another outlet to take some pressure and expectation off the young Bukayo Saka’s shoulders.
This transfer is certainly one to keep an eye on as if Arsenal can get the Brazilian for a cut-price, it would be no surprise to see Mikel Arteta to instruct the club to go for him.
Richarlison is priced at 8/1 to join Arsenal.
