Sergio Romero Next Club Odds

Manchester United and Argentina international Sergio Romero is set to leave Old Trafford this January, with the former AS Monaco goalkeeper’s contract set to run out in the summer.

The 33-year-old was reportedly denied a move to Everton late on in the last transfer window, with the Toffees eventually signing Robin Olsen on loan from AS Roma as an alternative. This prompted an angry response from Romero’s wife, as she posted a statement on her Instagram account saying: "Sergio Romero worked hard for this club…Last trophy they won, they lifted it with him. He helped the team reach four semi-finals and then he was on the bench only to lose them all. It is time for them to return the opportunity and let him go. RESPECT FOR ONCE!!!!"

Since Eliana Romero’s outburst on her social media accounts, the Argentinian hasn’t played a single minute for the club and also isn’t registered to play in any of United’s squads this season.

Valencia Odds

Spanish side Valencia are the favourites to sign Romero, with the La Liga side looking to tighten up their defence which is statistically the second-worst in the division, leaking 25 goals in 17 matches. The Mestalla club are currently 17th in the league under former Watford manager Javi Gracia and with Holland international goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen expressing his dismay having been benched by the Spaniard, the former Barca man is set to leave Valencia in the near future which would pave the way for Romero to join.

Romero is priced at 9/4 for a move to Valencia - Click here to claim this bet in your bet slip!

Any MLS Side Odds

The MLS is a proposition that could attract the 33-year-old goalkeeper, as it would see him move closer to his homeland of Argentina. Romero has been linked with moves to clubs in America such as Inter Miami, who have former Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain on their books. The former AZ Alkmaar shot-stopper knows Higuain having represented Argentina’s national side alongside him.

The Manchester United goalkeeper is priced at 5/2 to for a move to the MLS.

Everton Odds

Everton are still rumoured to be interested in Romero following a breakdown between United and the Goodison Park club late on in the last transfer window as mentioned above.

The Toffees have only kept four clean sheets in all competitions so far this season which is a statistic that Carlo Ancelotti’s side will have to improve on if they are to maintain their challenge to get European football next season. Neither Jordan Pickford or Olsen have impressed in this department since the start of this campaign, making several high-profile errors which has seen reports persistently linking Romero to Goodison Park.

Ancelotti's side have the odds of 11/2 to sign Romero from Old Trafford.

PSG Odds

Paris Saint-Germain are next on the list of clubs linked to the Argentinian. The Parisian’s don’t have an established backup goalkeeper, as when 21-year-old Polish shot-stopper Marcin Bulka has played he has been error-prone, as shown in his side’s 1-0 defeat to Lens on the opening day of their league season.

Romero could be tempted by the lifestyle in Paris, as well as having friends who play for the club, such as Ander Herrera, Angel Di Maria, Leandro Paredes and Mauro Icardi.

PSG are priced at 15/2 to take the 33-year-old to the Parc Des Princes.

Chinese Super League Odds

The Chinese Super League as a whole is priced at 9/1 as a potential destination for the United man. The CSL has had a whole host of South American players move there in the latter stages of their career’s, such as Carlos Tevez, Javier Mascherano and Ezequiel Lavezzi and could possibly tempt Romero due to the astronomical wages that club’s in the league tend to offer.

One club that Romero could particularly be tempted to move to are Shanghai Greenland Shenhua who current teammate Odion Ighalo is set to return to at the end of the month, once the Nigerian’s loan deal runs out.

Romero has the odds of 9/1 to make the switch to China.
