Premier League 2020/21 Odds: Top 6 Finish

Premier League odds

The new Premier League season is just around the corner. It is around this time that fans start making predictions as to who will finish where in the table.

It will take something spectacular if the likes of Liverpool, Man City and Man United fall out of the top six places next season so that essentially means that there are three other vacancies for a place in the top six and it could become a close battle amongst several clubs that would feel they have a realistic chance of creeping into the lucrative places in the league.

Chelsea Top Six odds

Chelsea are in good stead to continue the good work they put in last season. With having to cope with a transfer ban in the summer window, they still managed a top four finish.

Having already secured the services of Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner this summer, it is hard to see how Chelsea could take a step backwards rather than forwards with this side that appears to have been invigorated since the arrival of club legend Frank Lampard as manager.

The Blues have a realistic chance of reaching the top four again, making a top six finish feel almost certain - they are now priced at a low 1/7 to do so.

Spurs top six odds

Tottenham recovered well from their early-season stumbles. Replacing Mauricio Pochettino with Jose Mourinho appears to have been a good call by the board as the three-time Premier League-winning manager helped secure Spurs' top six status.

Another positive note for Spurs is that the upcoming season will be Mourinho's second season in the hot seat and not his third so we probably will not be expecting any signs of the Mourinho third season blues just yet at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

With the quality Spurs have in their squad, they should be pushing for the top four but anything can happen with this team as last season proved.

The north London outfit are priced at 4/7 to find themselves inside the top six at the end of the 2020/21 season.

Arsenal top six odds

Mikel Arteta has some work to do. The Spanish manager is still picking up the pieces left by his predecessor Unai Emery and he can now use the summer transfer window to try and create a team of his own.

Winning the FA Cup, thus gaining European football for the upcoming season, might just encourage their best players to stay while able to introduce improved quality to the squad as they aim to clamber back into the top six places.

Having finished eighth, their lowest league placing since 1995, the pressure will be on Arteta to try and bring the Gunners back to where they long to be - they are now 5/6 to get back inside the top six for next season.

Wolves top six odds

Nuno Espirito Santo's side have been knocking on the door of the top six for two seasons and proved last season that playing Europa League football does not always cause league form to suffer.

The next step for Wolves is to try and challenge for the top six. Some fans might arguably prefer a place in the top six as opposed to winning a trophy of one of the domestic cup competitions, the awarded prize money is much more lucrative that way.

Keeping their goal threat Raul Jimenez, despite interest from elsewhere, is essential if they are to get there having missed out on the top six due to a slightly inferior goal difference over Spurs.

Wolves are now priced at 6/4 to get inside the top six, and if this season is anything to go by, those are solid odds.

Leicester top six odds

Despite the highly respectable fifth place finish last season, the situation at the King Power Stadium is cause for concern.

The Foxes, with 14 games remaining, had a lead of 14 points over United. The Red Devils went on to finish four points and two places above Leicester as the club from the midlands sacrificed their place in the top four which would have guaranteed Champions League football by now.

It is often the case that when a team finishes a season in poor form, that poor form can continue into the new season and before long the thought of achieving the pre-season expectations becomes a monumental task. Brendan Rodgers has done well to bring the club forward into the top six but keeping them there for two seasons just might be too difficult.

Leicester have odds of a higher 13/8 to get back inside the top six for next season.

Everton top six odds

A big season awaits at Goodison Park as Carlo Ancelotti, who won the Premier League with Chelsea in 2010, is about to commence his first full season at Everton.

The ambition is evident at Everton. The Toffees have a manager with many honours to his name and rejected an £85m bid from Barcelona for Richarlison back in January. Finishing in the bottom half was below par for the team from Merseyside but Ancelotti spent the second half of the campaign fixing the damage that was present at the time of Marco Silva's sacking in December.

A place in the top half may be a more suitable expectation for a club like Everton but considering the progress they have made under Ancelotti, they might become a surprise package for next season.

Everton find themselves with odds of 7/2 to work their way back into the top six with the Premier League 2020/21 odds.

Southampton Premier League odds

The first step Southampton need to take if they are going to have any hope of reaching the top six next season is to break their vicious cycle.

The Saints so often spend much of the first half of the season mooching around the relegation zone, only to then recover in order to retain their Premier League status.

Of course their form and resurgence, following their 9-0 crushing defeat against Leicester in October, has exceeded many expectations, especially having persevered with Ralph Hassenhuttl. Finishing in the top half is more of a fitting expectation but the odds of the club finishing in the top six are understandably high.

Southampton's Premier League 2020/21 to make it into the top six are a high 12/1.

Leeds Premier League odds

Leeds' top six odds are no doubt going to catch the eye of many punters out there, as we truly don't know what to expect from the Whites after 16 years of waiting. Leeds are a club that has a good infrastructure in order to try and prove that they are here to stay in the Premier League, so can Leeds get top six?

Marcelo Bielsa is a manager that has plenty of experience at both international and high club levels and the squad appears ready for the Premier League having accumulated 93 points in the Championship this season.

In terms of where Leeds can finish in their first season back in the top flight, they can take inspiration from Wolves and fellow Yorkshire side Sheffield United. Both sides fell just outside the top six in their respective first seasons back in the Premier League and could consider themselves unlucky not to be there. The lesson of the story is that anything is possible for newly promoted sides and Leeds look the more likely of the three promoted teams to reach those heights.

Leeds' Premier League 2020/21 odds to get inside the top six are priced at 16/1.
