Premier League 2021/22 Winner/Bottom Double Odds

Man City to win the league and watford bottom

Nobody could come close to Manchester City last season, as Pep Guardiola’s side cruised to the Premier League title and another League Cup. Many teams have strengthened in the summer but the gap to the Citizens may still be hard to bridge, with the likes of Kevin De Bryune, Phil Foden and Riyad Mahrez unplayable for much of last season, but with the addition of Jack Grealish, they've now become clear favourites.

At the other end of the table, Watford are likely to be one of the teams fighting it out at the bottom to avoid relegation. Being one of the promoted sides, they will be one of the fancied teams to go down, especially with the strength of some of the Premier League sides already in the division and with the likes of Bretford and Norwich City looking strong heading into the season, it could see Watford finish rock bottom.

This is the bookmakers' most likely outcome and it is priced at 11/2.

Liverpool to win the league and Norwich bottom

After a poor defence of their title last season, Jurgen Klopp’s men will be out for redemption in 2021/22 and unless they put up a good fight, the future afterwards could be bleak.

One of the key factors that derailed their challenge to retain their crown last campaign was the injuries to captain Virgil van Dijk and his centre-back partner Joe Gomez, but now, with the two returning to full fitness, as well as the signing of Ibrahima Konate, it sees a fresh start for Klopp’s side to fight for the title again, with the likes Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane ready to lead the line.

Like Watford, Norwich will have to battle against the odds to retain their Premier League status this season. They face a battle against teams with clear quality at the lower end of the table such as Brighton and Newcastle, with the odds being stacked against the Canaries. The loss of Emi Buendia could be huge blow to Daniel Farke’s side and could be a factor that sees them finish rock-bottom again, like they did when Liverpool won the league in 2019/20.

Chelsea to win the league and brentford bottom

Thomas Tuchel has impressed since taking over at Stamford Bridge, turning Chelsea into a well-oiled machine that won the Champions League and made it to an FA Cup final under his reign so far, since midway through last season. In his first full season, the German could take the Blues even further and take them to a first Premier League title since 2017 and he is being well-backed in the potential signing of Romelu Lukaku as well, which could be the final piece of the puzzle.

Brentford are another one of the new boys that will be hoping they can keep themselves in the division this season. The Bees finally made it into the top tier, with their ‘moneyball’ transfer approach yielding results, such as Ivan Toney, who fired in 31 Championship goals last season in his debut campaign for the London outfit.

They’ve brought in two signings so far this season, but it may not be enough to compete with the other teams in the Premier League. With the other promoted teams back in the top tier instantly after only being in the top division two seasons ago, it could be straight back down for the debutants Brentford.

This one is 50/1.

United to win the league and Palace bottom

Last season was seen by many as progress under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, but Manchester United could have ambitions of going further and lifting the title for the first time since 2013 and if they don't serious questions will be asked of the Norwegian.

Jadon Sancho could be a star player for United following his arrival earlier in the summer, after establishing himself as one of the world’s standout talents at Borussia Dortmund and with him on the right wing, they should have their man for the next decade.

Raphael Varane adds some stability in the heart of the defence, an area that needed bolstering. Whether the Red Devils delve into the transfer market for more or are happy with what they’ve got, they have strengthened their side and could pose a challenge for the title.

There is plenty of uncertainty around Selhurst Park, with Roy Hodgson’s retirement seeing Patrick Viera take the hot seat at the London outfit. The Arsenal legend hasn’t got a great track record as a club manager, being sacked at his last job in France with Nice after a five-game losing run. It could turn out to be a shrewd appointment for Palace but could also be a disastrous spell for the French World Cup winner. The Eagles have also lost some of their core, key players this window, with Andros Townsend, Gary Cahill and Patrick Van Aanholt all leaving the club.
