Everton vs Newcastle United – Everton (-1) to win

Following a draw at home to Leicester City on Wednesday night, Everton are chasing their first Premier League win of the year at Goodison Park. Carlo Ancelotti’s side won their first three home games of the season by a goal margin of at least two goals but are yet to do so since then.

However, their two wins since have been against Chelsea and Arsenal and the Toffees have now played at home to four teams out of the current, which suggests their home form has been better than it may seem.

Newcastle United boss Steve Bruce has come under serious pressure from Toon fans recently having gone nine games without a win and scoring just three goals in their last eight games. The Magpies dependence on Callum Wilson has shown, with the side really struggling for goals whilst he is out of form and haven’t scored an away goal in five consecutive games across all competitions.

We expect Newcastle to sit back for the majority of the game, but the threat of Calvert-Lewin and James Rodríguez will prove to be too much with Everton winning comfortably. Sky Bet are offering odds of 9/4 for Everton to win the game with a (-1) goal handicap.

West Bromwich Albion vs Fulham – West Brom Win to Nil

Sam Allardyce will be desperate to improve West Brom’s home form since his arrival, with the former England boss losing his opening four home games since his appointment, scoring no goals and conceding 17 goals. Although it may seem as if the Baggies are struggling for goals, they have scored in every away game since Allardyce’s arrival and will be hoping to break their Hawthorns draught in this weekend’s ‘six-pointer’.

Fulham are also a side that has struggled for goals of late, with Aleksandar Mitrovic being out of form, without a goal since the second game of the season. The lack of an alternative established striker has resulted in Scott Parker’s side scoring just four goals in their last nine games.

West Brom need a home win under their belt and we think they will get their first since November in a huge game this weekend against a misfiring Fulham. Sky Bet are offering odds of 9/2 for the Baggies to win the game to nil.

Southampton vs Aston Villa – Draw

Fresh from a 3-1 loss at home to Arsenal on Tuesday night, Southampton return to St. Mary's to face Aston Villa, who sit just one place above them in the league table. The Saints have just one win in their last seven games, including three draws, with this recent form seemingly ending any hopes of a Champions League spot, after a strong start to the season.

Villa have had a similar season to the hosts and have lost three of their last four games, throwing away a 2-1 lead away at Burnley during mid-week to lose 3-2. However, two of their losses have been against Manchester United and Manchester City and they were unlucky to lose to Burnley having been the better team.

We are going for a draw with both teams probably being happy with a point, Villa looked a good side despite the result on Wednesday but have not beat Southampton in their last nine attempts. A draw is priced at 5/2 but this fixture has seen an average of five goals across its last seven games, so we also fancy a 2-2 scoreline, which is 10/1.

Leicester City vs Leeds United – Leicester Win and Both Teams to Score

Leicester City could potentially go top of the league with a victory over Leeds United on Sunday and go into the game unbeaten in seven matches. What is more impressive is the fact that star striker Jamie Vardy has scored in only one of these seven games, which shows their lack of dependence on their number nine due to numerous goalscoring alternatives.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side bounced back from consecutive losses with a win on Tuesday night, however they struggled to get over the line against an out-of-form Newcastle side. There is an average of 3.53 goals per game involving Leeds, which is the highest of any team in the league.

We think Leicester will come out on top in a high scoring game and Sky Bet are offering odds of 9/4 for Leicester to win and both teams to score.

Brighton & Hove Albion vs Tottenham Hotspur – Tottenham to win

Brighton won just once at home in 2020 and are yet to win at the Amex Stadium this campaign. They had a good chance to get three points at home to Fulham on Wednesday but could only manage a 0-0 draw. Brighton have lost eight of their last ten meetings with Tottenham Hotspur.

Spurs have only lost once away from home this season, which was against defending champions Liverpool, who they also lost to during midweek in a 3-1 defeat. Mourinho’s side will be eyeing up a Champions League spot this season and a win here could put them within one point of the top four, with a game in hand.

The north London side are 5/4 to win on Sunday night and we think they will put Thursday’s disappointing performance behind them and come out on top on the south coast.
