Aston Villa vs Arsenal – Arsenal Win and Both Teams to Score

The first Premier League game of the weekend sees Aston Villa take on Arsenal at Villa Park. The Midlands side have won just two of their last eight home games in all competitions, losing five, but did beat Arsenal 1-0 in the reverse fixture. Dean Smith’s side have scored in eight of their last nine games, only failing to score away to Manchester City.

Arsenal have recovered from their awful start to the season, but lost their first league game of 2021 on Tuesday night, as they were controversially reduced to nine men in a 2-1 defeat at Wolverhampton. The Gunners have won three of their last four games away from home in the league and will be looking to bounce back from their disappointing midweek performance.

We think Arteta’s side will come out on top in the early kick-off in an entertaining game, with both teams scoring which is 10/3.

Burnley vs Brighton & Hove Albion – Draw

Before back-to-back 2-0 defeats to Chelsea and Manchester City, Burnley won three games on the bounce in all competitions. Three of the last five meetings between these two sides at Turf Moor have ended in a draw and given the away sides recent form, the hosts may be happy to settle for a point.

Brighton have won three of their last four games, including shock wins over Tottenham and Liverpool. The Seagulls have drawn more games than any other side in the Premier League and we think they will get their tenth draw of the season on Saturday (23/10).

They have also conceded just once in their last five games, meaning a draw with under 2.5 goals is likely (11/4).

Fulham vs West Ham United – West Ham Win to Nil

Fulham are without a win in the league since November and have lost their last three home games in the Premier League. Scott Parker’s team have struggled for goals at Craven Cottage, scoring once in their last five, and no team have scored less goals at home this season.

The signing of striker Josh Maja on loan from Bordeaux has been signed to bolster their attacking threat, with the main man Aleksandar Mitrovic failing to score in a home game this season.

In contrast, West Ham United are excelling under the guidance of David Moyes and have won eight of their last nine games in all competitions, as Jesse Lingard bagged twice on his debut for the club in the excellent win over Villa.

The Hammers have kept a clean sheet in six of their 11 wins this season and the signing of Jesse Lingard looks to have been a smart one, with the midfielder scoring twice on his debut on Wednesday night. We think West Ham will continue their form and win the game which is 11/10, whilst West Ham to win to nil is 11/4 with Sky Bet.

Newcastle United vs Southampton – 40+ Booking Points

Newcastle United have won just once in 11 games and their poor form has led to frustration being shown on the pitch and their last three games have had at least 40 booking points. Manager Steve Bruce is under pressure and his side sit 16th in the fair play table, picking up 40 yellow cards in 22 games. This looks like another close encounter and we expect a few cards to be brandished.

After a devastating 9-0 defeat at Manchester United on Tuesday night, where Southampton picked up two red cards and four yellows, the Saints will be eager to bounce back this weekend. We think the south coast side could fly into a few tackles this weekend as they look to get back on track and believe there will be 40+ booking points.

Sheffield United vs Chelsea – Chelsea to Win 1-0, 2-0 or 2-1 6/4

Sheffield United have finally begun to pick up points, winning three of their last five games, including a 2-1 win at Manchester United. However, the South Yorkshire side have scored just 14 goals in 22 games and we think they will struggle to score again this weekend, despite their recent turn of form. Four of their last five defeats have had scorelines of either 1-0, 2-0 or 2-1.

New Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has certainly improved the Blues’ defence, facing just one shot on target and a total of five shots in his first two games.

The form of defender Thiago Silva has played a major role in this, reuniting with his former boss and we anticipate another strong defensive performance on Sunday. A Chelsea win, by either 1-0, 2-0 or 2-1 is priced at 6/4.
