Leicester vs Liverpool: Liverpool win + BTTS

After receiving a humbling from Manchester City at Anfield last Sunday, Liverpool return to action against their former manager Brendan Rodgers, when they travel to the King Power Stadium to face Leicester City, in matchday 24’s opener.

Despite sitting a place above Liverpool in the league, Leicester were convincingly beaten 3-0 by the Reds in the reverse fixture earlier this season, and all three meetings between the sides since Rodgers took charge have ended in defeat for Leicester. Even before Rodgers took over, Leicester’s record against Liverpool was poor, losing seven of the last nine.

Liverpool’s only league wins in 2021 both came away from home against Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United, and like many sides, appear to prefer playing on the road at the moment. Leicester are another one of those sides as they have lost five of their 11 home games this season.

As well as both being in the top four in the table, the two are also in the top four of the scoring charts, so goals are almost certain here. Liverpool’s defensive record is on par with Burnley in 17th, but only Manchester United have scored more. We are tipping Liverpool to continue their excellent record over Leicester with both teams to score in the game, available at 11/4 with Sky Bet.

Man City vs Spurs: Son to score and lose

Fresh from breaking the all-time top-flight record for successive wins in all competitions on Wednesday, Manchester City face one of their bogey sides in Tottenham Hotspur at the Etihad Stadium this weekend.

The comfortable 3-1 win over Swansea in the FA Cup saw City win a 15th game in a row, but next up they face the last side who were able to beat them, Tottenham, who did so in November, and they will have City’s arch-nemesis in the lineup, Son Heung-min.

The South Korean has scored five goals in his previous five appearances against Pep Guardiola’s side, and already has 13 goals and six assists in the league, as well setting up three goals in their 5-4 defeat at Everton in the week. The return of Harry Kane to the team will be a boost to Son himself, as the duo have been the most prolific pairing in the Premier League.

Spurs have scored in eight of their previous ten visits to the Etihad and with Son’s excellent scoring record here, he should be high on the list of potential scorers, but it is hard to look past another Man City win, so our tip is for Son to score and lose the match, available at odds of 5/1 with Sky Bet.

Brighton vs Villa: Villa win to nil

Saturday night’s action comes from the Amex Stadium, as Brighton and Hove Albion host Aston Villa, who have really punched above their weight so far this season, as they look to push on for a European spot.

Villa’s turnaround has been largely down to their brilliant defensive record, as Dean Smith has one of the most settled defences in the league, leading them to having the fourth-best record in the division. They sit ninth in the table but have two games in hand and are just five points off the top four, so European qualification is definitely still a realistic ambition.

Despite picking up a good amount of points recently, Brighton are hardly a prolific side, scoring just four goals in their last six games, and wins at the Amex are very rare for Brighton as, amazingly, their last three home wins have been spread across three years: Tottenham (January 2021), Arsenal (June 2020) and Bournemouth (December 2019).

It is likely to be a tight game but we are tipping Villa to come out on top here, and considering their last eight wins have all been to nil, we think that will happen once more, with Brighton’s record in front of goal. Villa to win to nil is priced at 7/2.

West Brom vs Man United: Man United (-2)

Manchester United go to the Hawthorns on Sunday to face a West Bromwich Albion side which have struggled to see much of a reaction since Sam Allardyce came in to replace Slaven Bilic in hopes of saving the Baggies from relegation.

Despite being renowned for shutting up shop and making teams tight at the back to divert them away from relegation, Allardyce’s West Brom have done the exact opposite and began conceding even more than their spell with Bilic. They are yet to keep a clean sheet under his leadership and have conceded 24 goals in their last six home games, with their record reading one win, two draws and eight losses since he came in.

If any team can punish a team so defensively weak, then it is Man United. The Red Devils have scored 12 goals in their last two league games and have not lost away from home in the league for 13 months. With a fully fit selection of attackers to choose from, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team have the ability to run riot here.

Our tip is for United to win with a handicap of (-2), available at 9/4 with Sky Bet.

Everton v Fulham: under 2.5 goals

After their involvement in one of the most thrilling games of the season on Wednesday, Everton will divert their attention away from the 5-4 win over Tottenham Hotspur, to the visit of Fulham in the Premier League on Sunday night, as the toffees continue to chase an illustrious Champions League spot.

Despite scoring a five and winning at Goodison in the week, Everton’s home form in the league has been woeful since the turn of the year, with their last win coming in mid-December. They have only scored once in their last three Premier League home games, as they blanked against both Newcastle United and West Ham United, two sides who came with the same game plan as Fulham are expected to bring; defensive solidity.

James Rodriguez missed the cup tie with a calf injury and Dominic Calvert-Lewin went off with a hamstring problem, meaning Everton’s two top scorers are big doubts for the visit of Scott Parker’s men. Fulham also have issues in front of goal themselves. Only Burnley and Sheffield United have scored fewer goals than Fulham and they have scored just six in their last 12 league games.

With neither side exactly firing on all cylinders, under 2.5 goals scored in this game is our tip, at odds of 12/5 with Sky Bet.
