Premier League Winner/Top Scorer Odds 2021/22

To the surprise of many, Harry Kane will start the 2021/22 Premier League season as a Tottenham Hotspur player, despite it seemingly being inevitable that he would be pulling on the blue of Manchester City when the two sides actually meet each other on the opening weekend.

For now though, he remains in north London, and even if he does for the whole season, he will still be the huge favourite to finish as the league’s top scorer once again after doing so last season with a very impressive 23 goals to earn his third Golden Boot.

As for City, even if Pep Guardiola is not able to add Kane to his ranks, his team strength still far outweighs the rest of the league. Adding Jack Grealish for £100m earlier this month from Aston Villa to play alongside Kevin De Bruyne, Phil Foden and Riyad Mahrez among others shows why they are 8/13 outright to win the title, and that could come in even further if they were to pull off the signing of Kane as well before the August deadline.

Now, they are 11/2 to win the league and Kane to get another Golden Boot.

Chelsea haven't won the Premier League since Antonio Conte led them to the title in 2016/17, where they finished on a sensational 93 points and won 32 games in what was one of the best seasons of a side in the past decade. In fact, it was statistically their best season in a title-winning campaign in their history, apart from their 95-point triumph in 2004/05 under Jose Mourinho.

Nevertheless, the Blues are the champions of Europe and with Thomas Tuchel changing the game at Stamford Bridge, it seemed they lacked one major component to getting them into title contention: goals from a forward. Now, with the addition of Romelu Lukaku to the forward line, they have become the favourites in the eyes of many and to have Chelsea win the league and the Belgian outscore everyone, the odds are 18/1.

Lukaku was at Chelsea once upon a time, but after not scoring a goal in 10 Premier League appearances for them, he has gone onto score 68 league goals from 141 appearances for Everton, 28 in 66 for United, and 47 in 72 for Inter Milan.

At 28, and as the top scorer of his nation, Lukaku could easily win the Golden Boot now and everything seems to have clicked for Chelsea getting closer to City.

After a very rocky season last time around which saw Liverpool completely capitulate midway through the campaign with six consecutive defeats at home after going 68 unbeaten at Anfield in the league, they conceded their Premier League crown back to Manchester City with a whimper.

However, their form picked up once again at the end of the season and Jurgen Klopp’s side managed to secure a top four finish, and with supporters back at Anfield along with the readdition of Virgil van Dijk back in defence, the Reds will be targeting the title once again.

Mohamed Salah has been relentless in front of goal in his four years at Liverpool, scoring 95 times in the Premier League alone, winning two Golden Boots and finishing second behind by just the one goal to Kane after adding another 22 to his overall tally last season

He may well end up missing a few games while away at the African Cup of Nations in the new year, but if Liverpool are to mount a title challenge, Salah will be the main man for goals. A Liverpool/Salah double is 18/1.

After the high-profile signings of Raphael Varane and Jadon Sancho, United may well have found two of the key missing pieces needed to mount a serious title challenge this season. After finishing second to rivals City last season and in 2018, with a settled squad and a manager who has been given time, now is the time for them to push on to reach the summit.

With Edinson Cavani not a regular starter, Marcus Rashford injured, and Anthony Martial and Mason Greenwood both inconsistent at times, the goalscoring mantle will surely be passed to Bruno Fernandes again. His free-kick in preseason against Everton shows his golden touch is continuing after a poor end to the season and a lacklustre Euros with Portugal.

Fernandes’ superb record from the penalty spot and his eye for goal from distance also adds goals to his tally as he aims to be the first midfielder to win the Premier League Golden Boot, after finishing third in the standings last season with 18 goals.
